I will be attending a fundraiding event in Seward for a friend of my son. She is a Seward girl, now living in Lincoln, married with 3 children. She has had surgery to remove a malignant brain tumor and has been receiving chemo therapy. My son and his family are coming from Omaha, and I volunteered to bake a cake for the supper that is being served.

Have fun knitting, and I hope to see you next time.

...what a great time we had at the College World Series this afternoon! The weather was perfect and the game was good even if Georgia didn't win. I think if the weather cooperates we're going to go back tomorrow for the Georgia Tech game. We've got four graduates in the family from those two schools so we have a vested interest in the outcome.

I was so inspired by your photo, Liz, that I decided to add one also.
I proved the old saying "third time is the charm" since that is how
many tries it took me to get my photo in an album and posted. Somehow
I added my photo (twice!) to the album Patsy started before I got it
right. I used to think I was good with technology, but . . .

It is a hot day for a baseball game, but I bet Liz is having a good
time!

Yes, we did have a good time again at the game today and, fortunately, we were under the roof in the upper stands so we had shade all afternoon. Georgia Tech lost, though, and will be headed home. We will have to see if Georgia can do any better.

On Saturday, August 19, we will meet at the Clubhouse at The Colony Apartments, 3751 Faulkner Dr., 68516 for a potluck Lunch&Knit at 12:00. The Colony is located off S. 40th in the Williamsburg shopping area near Hyvee. We have invited the newly formed Meet-up group of Lincoln knitters to join our twice monthly group. We will still meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays but thought we'd try an occasional lunch get-together. In September, both Saturday meetings will be back at Wilderness Perk on Pine Lake. But in October, we'll have another 12-3 Lunch&Knit at The Colony. (More on that date later.) So to recap:

Saturday, August 19 12-3 p.m. The Colony Clubhouse. Bring something to share for lunch. It would be helpful if you would rsvp on this site and tell us what you plan to bring.
