As much as I've tried and tried to fit this in, it's just not
happening. Company in from out of state for the football game and
work is getting in the way of everything. I am with you all in
spirit - have a SUPER time together.

Liz, you were right! "P" means any dry cleaning solvent other than

I just got an e-mail from Herschners. They have a sock yarn on sale
for $3.97/skein, and it is selling quick.

Hot Socks® Prints Yarn
• Easy-care variegated sock yarn keeps your toes toasty warm.
• 75% virgin wool superwash/25% nylon wears like iron.
• 1.75 oz/50 gr/230 yd/210m ball.

You would probably need 2 skeins to do a pair of socks.

Hi. This message is for Jayme-the-Wonder-Publicist.

I am a member of the Lincoln, NE Chapter of the The Knitting Guild Association and would like to bring Stephanie Pearl-McPhee to Lincoln, Nebraska. I spoke with the Community Relations Manager at Barnes and Noble and she said they could host the event, but they are not permitted to contact authors directly.

We could also host the event at one of our monthly guild meetings.

I look forward to speaking with you!

Thank you, THANK YOU!! I've been wanting to learn how to do the whole
two-circular needle sock thing, as well as the short-row heel. As
soon as I read your message, I grabbed my yarn and needles and started
in! I'm about 1/3 of the way up the foot (or feet, as the case may
be). The circulars that I'm using are quite stiff and have a lot of
curl in them from being packaged, so it's been kind of a pain. On the
other hand, I'm looking forward to having both socks done at the same
time, with nothing but weaving in to finish.

I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Thanks again! You folks rock!

Beth

  Hi Beth,

Wendy Johnson,  www.wendyknits.net , discovered doing socks on two circulars with 16" Knitpicks needles
http://www.knitpicks.com/circular+knitting+needles_NL300302.html.  I have tried doing socks this way and really like it.  I never did like the 24" needles for two circulars.  However, the 16" will only work if you are doing one sock at a time.

Glad you are finding our posts helpful.

Hello Beth,

We are all happy to help with other knitter's project; however, (while I won't say it doesn't happen) we do try and refrain from sharing patterns that are copy written.  The best way to do this would be to privately ask someone about it.  This pattern is easily available from many sources.  Here is a site that gives lots of Baby Surprise help:

While I had fun doing the KAL.  I believe that Carol Anderson's "Babies and Bears" sweater based on the Baby Surprise is a better design - you end up with a hood and also regular sleeves.  http://www.nakedsheep.com/baandbeswknp.html

Hey Mary Pat,

Thanks for the information about the Baby Surprise sweater.  Actually...now that I think about it, I might actually have the pattern!  The http://www.knitting-and.com/wiki/Baby_Surprise_Jacket really does have a wealth of information about doing this sweater.  Right now, I've got to concentrate on getting a set of Christmas stockings made for my niece and her family.

Thanks again,
