You got twice the max last time, 600.
I was reluctant to send so many to one person however you talked me into it.

If you go with three hundred now and a second shipment of 300 later if
needed I would feel better about it. That way we can make them available as
needed. Kerry has you down for one box of three hundred Journals for now.

I was expecting to send Jim Foster a box to give out at the Oklahoma
conference and I can also send you a box for the Spiritfest gathering.

Remind me, please, of how many Journals you sent the last time.  The
distribution was rather haphazard because of my operation, and necessary
recovery time, but this time it should be better.  I intend to take all my
left-overs, including ones from the past two Journals, and distribute them to
others at this year's SpiritFest.  They can, in turn, distribute them in their
own areas.  We'll have people coming from Northern Ca, the Valley, the Sierras,

Hi Marty.
	 Magazines have a high political profile in the NAFTA agreement, and may
even have been taken out.  There are supposed to be Canadian Issues.  They
may have a policy on "free" books, as well. Probably what would make the
difference is to tell them that there is NO ADVERTISING in the magazines.

Also, the last time I learned that UPS gives no leeway in terms of time.
They phoned me one day, and two days later, the books had been shipped back!

We need to sort this out first Marty, because I don't have the funds right
now to pay a huge ticket on 200 journals and a number of books, as much as
I'd like to.

Never Leave Peace To The Politicians
Israel - In a region where true peace seems as illusive as the proverbial
"holy grail," one woman, without funds or an organization backing her,  has
shown the difference that one truly committed person can make in creating
peace.  Hagit Ra'anan was not your typical candidate for peace work.  Her
family background was from the political right and only four years ago she
hesitated to even visit the old city of Jerusalem because of potential
confrontations with Palestinians.  All of that has changed.  Today you are
more likely to find Hagit in a West Bank refugee camp or leading a group of
enthusiastic Israelis to Gaza to meet with Palestinian families, than behind
a desk as the administrative secretary she once was.  Politicians can
sometimes prevent wars and write detail documents, but true peace is a
people
to people process that comes from the heart.  And this is the heart of
Hagit's work; building bridges of understand and respect between ordinary
Palestinians and Israelis.  Working with dedicated young Palestinian peace
workers, Hagit has taken more than 150 Israelis over the course of eight
visits to Gaza.  The Israeli visitors have met with a similar number of
Palestinians in private homes and all have come to better understand each

A Click A Day Keeps The Saws Away
Peru - We are all painfully aware of the rapid devastation of the worlds
remaining rainforest.  But what can one person do?  Ask Wayne Umbertis who
coordinates an internet based project which is successfully saving
rainforests - with your help.  Here's the story.  The recently established
project is set up so that when you visit the designated website (with banner
ads from sponsors), the sponsoring companies contribute toward a fund that
is
used to purchase rainforest land for preservation.  Does this really work?
According to Umbertis, 175 acres along the Amazon border of Peru, Brazil &
Ecuador, near Iquitos, Peru were saved in the first 90 days after the
project
was established.  Another 40,000 acres in this area are available for
purchase from the Peruvian government and it is one of the most species rich
locations in the world. Regardless of who you are or where you live, each

Mozambique - The recent floods in Mozambique washed away a great deal more
than worldly possessions.  It also swept away some old hatreds. As marooned
Mozambicans in trees and on rooftops were being rescued by South African
soldiers, historical hatreds were dissolving.  The previous government of
South Africa had been Mozambique's worst enemy because of its involvement in
a civil war to topple the country's socialist government.  But as the flood
waters rose, the South African helicopter patrols worked tirelessly from
dawn
to dusk rescuing over 15,000 stranded Mozambicans. As one air force veteran
stated, "At that point we were simply "Africans helping Africans." Southern
Africa has changed a lot in the past few years. The civil war in Mozambique
is over and the country has embraced a free-market economy that is a model
for the developing world. South Africa's minority regime has collapsed and
been replaced by a democratic government.  Today the people of Mozambique
feel a great deal of gratitude and as one survivor said about the people he
once despised, "They saved a lot of people. Now it would be very hard to
find
someone who would say something bad about the South Africans."

Rainbow Caravan Teaches Eco-Living
Columbia - The "Rainbow Caravan For Peace" which originated in Mexico,
recently arrived in Columbia, carrying on is mission of bringing grassroots
ecological awareness and education to the peoples of Central and South
America. Currently it is in the Choco Darien area visiting the Reserve
Integral de Sasardi (http://freeweb.digiweb.com/health/fundarien) and
participating in the protection program for the Cana Sea Turtle, working
directly with the local communities through theater, workshops, audiovisuals
and courses. Consisting of 25 people from 8  countries, two solar-powered

mobile ecovillage and training center associated with the Global Ecovillage

Dare To Dream Of A New World
USA - In 1836, pursuing a policy of ethnic cleansing, the US government -
under the leadership of president Andrew Jackson - organized a midwinter
thousand mile death march to Oklahoma in an effort to remove the native
peoples from the Southeast USA and open the land to gold prospectors and
land
speculators. This infamous event was known as the "trail of tears."  But
small groups of people escaped the roundup and followed the trails into the
mountains and a life of freedom.  These same trails later became the famous
"underground railroad" for escaped slaves seeking freedom in the northern
free states.  In a renewed call to remember our ability to dream the dream
of
peace, justice and freedom, people of goodwill from all races have begun a
"trail of dreams" march through the Appalachian Mountains from Pennsylvania
to  Georgia.  According to organizer Audri Scott Williams, the children are
forgetting to dream.  And, as the prophet Isaiah said "where there is no
dream, the people perish."  As the walkers weave themselves through the
Mountains they will come into cities where community and spiritual leaders,
elders, storytellers, artists, youth and performers will gather with
children
coming in from all over the country to celebrate our capacity to dream a

Pirates For Peace
Ireland -   What's the best way to recycle a World War II warship?  Ask the
young people in  Ireland who are converting an antiquated 100-foot naval
minesweeper into a radio station which will tackle social and political
issues with programmes targeted to young audiences throughout Ireland.  The
purpose of the station is to provide a forum for education and mutual
understanding and to raise awareness amongst young people of the part they
have to play in the peace process on a day-to-day basis. The station will
offer a neutral venue for building bridges and friendships across the
traditional walls which have divided the communities of Northern Ireland.
   Pirates for Peace was established by 'Action for Peoples in Conflict.'
Another important aspect of this project is the employment skills that young
people will learn through their participation. Broadcasting, journalism,
media and editing techniques will all be experienced as the project evolves.

Making Democracy Work
USA - While many citizens decry the failure of democracy in the USA with the
ever growing influence of special interest lobbies, two people decided to do
something positive to address the problem.  In 1998 Jim Harris & Pat Murphy
created a very simple internet based system in which they regularly inform
subscribers of critical issues facing the nation and provide a suggested
email that goes out under the subscribers name to all appropriate elected
officials.  Its a perfect system for those who are too busy to write
letters.
  One only reviews the e-letter and clicks accept if they wish it sent in
their name. The system is both educational for citizens as well as
influential on elected representatives.  In the two years from April 1998 to
April 2000 over four million letters were sent to elected representatives in

Inspiring News Briefs From Around The World

France - A paralyzed Frenchman took his first steps in 10 years this spring
after a revolutionary operation restored nerve functions using a microchip
implant. Marc Merger, 39, who was paralyzed in a car accident, received the
implant in February during a groundbreaking operation in Strasbourg that
doctors said gave new hope to thousands of paraplegics.

Japan - An arm of the World Bank is linking with Softbank Corp. of Japan to
provide $200 million in startup capital to internet companies in poor
countries. The venture, to be based in Silicon Valley, will help finance an
information infrastructure offering access to world markets and resources
that could improve health and agriculture.

Jordan - King Abdullah II, the new leader of Jordan since his father King
Hussein's death, has been sneaking out of his palace disguised as a news
photographer or taxi driver to find ways to improve his country. On one trip
he went to the largest hospital in Amman and conducted a surprise
inspection.
He startled the manager with a list of improvements to be made within a
week.
The administrator doubted the king would ever follow-up and so left
conditions unchanged. When Abdullah returned, he fired the manager and today
the hospital is comparable to any in Washington or New York.

Korea - 25 years ago the median South Korean wage was about 5% of the median
wage in the United States; now it's nearly 45%.

Liechtenstein - You won't see this royal couple on the cover of People
magazine! Angela Brown, the first black woman to marry into a European royal
family, was recently wedded in New York to Prince Maximillian of
Liechtenstein.  It is the first marriage for  both. The US news media
virtually ignored the event even though it was a first and had wide coverage

USA - The Washington, DC Police department held a gun amnesty program that
paid a $100 bill to anyone turning in a firearm, no questions asked. Nearly
a
quarter of a million dollars in confiscated drug money was used for the
publicized campaign which removed from the streets 2,907 handguns, sawed-off
shotguns and other firearms.

Venezuela - While the leaders of many countries use their office as a
convenient means of creating Swiss bank accounts and legislators enact laws
to increase their own salaries,  Venezuela's president, Hugo Chavez, has
donated his presidential salary to create student scholarships. He said he
did not need the approximately $1,200 per month, "I don't spend anything...I
don't pay for my gasoline, food or driver, why should I need it?" Chavez,
44,
said he could easily provide for his wife and child on his army pension (a
similar payment). Chavez had already cut back on bodyguards, canceled the
purchase of a new bulletproof presidential car and floated the idea of
turning one presidential home into a school. He also pledged to use the
country's oil wealth and expansive military to improve conditions for the
vast numbers of poor and unemployed.

Planetary Awakening Network
The Planetary Awakening Network (PAN) was established in 1998 as an

World Service Summits
Since 1988, Network 2012 has been convening regional, national and
international "Light Link" network gatherings.  The purpose of these summits
is to bring together those involved in conscious raising activities in many
areas of planetary change for the purpose of getting to know one another.
Unlike most conferences, there are no speakers, lectures, workshops or
seminars.  We simply meet in a circle as peers for three or four days to
share our resources, visions and challenges, and to explore ways to work
together on behalf of positive planetary change. To date there have been 15

Publishers Directory & Network
In January, Network 2012 initiated the creation of an internet based
directory of new consciousness  periodicals to be followed soon by the
creation of a publishers network. This is still a work in progress with a
completion date set for the end of July.  Currently there are over sixty

World Service Bank
The "World Service Bank" will be implemented once the budget commitments for
Network 2012 are in place for this year. This will be a "bank without
walls."
Those who wish to make micro-loans or grants to projects which are making a
significant contribution toward planetary transformation will simply
register
their commitment with the "bank" but will retain the money in their own bank
account. Network 2012 will work with "investors" in developing funding
criteria and serve as a liaison in receiving funding requests, which will be
reviewed, researched and forwarded with a recommendation to potential
contributors or "investors" who will make the final selection as to what
they
wish to fund.  If an investor/contributor prefers to remain anonymous or
needs a US tax deduction, an appropriate channel will be found for this.
This keeps the whole operation very simple and with virtually no overhead.
Along with financial resources, the contributors/investors in such a bank
would represent a rich store of creativity, guidance and experience for the
project(s) they adopt.  If you would like to be on a list for more

Alternative Income Idea Bank
In early April we initiated the concept of an "Alternative Income Idea
Bank."
  One of the consistent themes we have seen again and again is the continual
balancing act that many world servers endure between "doing their work" and
"paying their bills."  Many have stepped outside the conventional job market
and are trying to do their light work full time.  Some have succeeded better
than others.  Currently we are gathering information and ideas about
alternative income options to make available to all who are interested.
This is available both to projects and businesses that are already up and
running as well as simply creative ideas that a person may want to network
with others about.  If you wish to submit an idea, project or business,

Nationwide E-Networks
Would you like to be in contact with like minded world servers in your
country (or state if you live in the USA)?  Networking is the primary
purpose
of Network 2012.  Keeping with this focus, we are creating  "National
E-Nets."  The idea is to link up people involved in positive planetary
transformation in each geographical region in order to create grassroots
networks around the world.  Each participant will receive a copy of the
"directory" of the others in their country (or state) who wish to link up.
To
participate, simply send your first name, city, country and email address
with an indication that you want to participate in the E-Network to

Financial Report
Network 2012 does not charge for any of its services.  It is a partnership
endeavor composed of stipended volunteers and contributors.  We operate on a
very modest $36,000 annual budget.  So far this year we have 12 contributors
from four countries who have made commitments to the project totaling
$19,900.  We still need $16,100 to meet our budget for this year.  When this
is complete we will be free to move forward with new projects such as the

A Personal Postscript

   Spring has finally arrived in the mountains of western North Carolina
(USA). New leaves are out on the trees, the hummingbirds have returned and

Abraham and the other visiting celestials. I am moved to write a letter to
Abraham.

Let me try to put some of my feelings into words.

Abraham has always been a role model for me of faith. He was given a son as
a reward for his faith and he named him Isaac which exactly translated
means, They will laugh. The laughing that they would do would be to laugh
because Abraham was considered to be too old and the visiting angels would
get the credit for fathering the boy.

I, too was without a child and in my fortieth year when I told Father that
If it was His will for me to have a son, it was mine too, and I would name
the child Isaac because I would know that it was a child given to my in my
faith just like Abraham got his son, Isaac.

Well, you know that my son Isaac is now twenty-five, this May 23rd.

When I first heard that Abraham opened the Teaching Mission in New Zealand,
I must admit that it was a hard pill to swallow but all in all, there was
nothing I could really do about it but listen to this "teacher" and get to
know him and I was certain that I would one day get to decide for sure, one
way or the other, if it is really him. Avraham Avinu (our father Abraham).

I am so very happy to tell of my wonderment at the meanings that Abraham's
work here illuminates for me/us. Here is a man of Urantia whose life is
known to some extent and who even speaks of his life as a mortal from time
to time and yet we hear his teachings as they come from a person of four
thousand years of experience.. It is truly beautiful to get a glimpse
through our mortal minds of how the fruits of the spirit ripen and
proliferate as a person transcends dimensions.. Abraham's being one of us;
a Urantian, lends something really uniquely special to his character that
is truly recognizable to me/us.

Abraham indeed teaches great love of God and of men. He teaches great
humility and dedication. Sometimes I feel his joy of being back here again,
carrying on as he did when he was a warrior with a sword. Now he is
teaching us how to take the kingdom of God as the Pagans beseige cities. I
am thrilled to see the progression of his life as it is revealed in his
presence with us.

Abraham, what I like the most is your gentle, caring manner and your deep
and joyful humility that is like living in worship. That is the impression
I get from you of what life is like where you are coming from. Yes, father
Abraham, you are still my role model and teacher. Now you are also my
example of living worship in whiich I joyfully join you in thanksgiving.

Recently you have celebrated the day of the resurrected Master. His life on
Urantia really created great change. His teachings, although somewhat
distorted, still live on. I can say what He faced during his trial and
execution was also an important part of learning to live in the Father’s
comfort when all else has failed or all human energy has ceased.

How could the Master have endured such a trial? How could He be resolved
within Himself to not go with his mortal instincts to save Himself? Yes, He
was the Creator Son even then, but the brutality He faced made even the
spiritual beings On High shudder. Jesus, the man and Michael, the Creator,
knew deep within His very being the absolute and unconditional love of God,
all else was small in comparison.

The love of the Father is an energy, which is in actuality the sustainer of
life. My friends, you know to a small degree of the love of God. Your
capacity to comprehend this love grows with each spiritual level you master.
The true and everlasting love of God is without pleasantries or fairy-tale
padding. The essence of God’s love is powerful and truthful, honorable and
forthright, all-encompassing and without condition.

The Master endured because He knew without a doubt He possessed this love.
He felt this love as a life sustaining nutrient that upheld him in all
things. The Master loves us with this love. I understand that it would be
difficult to love everybody with this love, but as you reach for new
spiritual heights you can know better yourself this love of God--this
sustaining, unfailing, enduring energy, which is in all actuality the only
thing we will ever really need.

To love your fellows as the Master loves you, you must first understand how
the Father and the Master love you. It is with realness and allowing you to
experience and learn what you need in order to find God. How can you endure
in such a strife torn world? What will drive you forward? What will fulfill
you to your very inner being?

We are still within the series on the Brotherhood, but at this time I ask
that we each reconnect with our Indwelling Spirit. Ponder upon the Master's
courage to endure and also to lay down what He wanted in order to take up
what Father wanted. If you are met by your fellows, could they see that you
have been with God? Would they know He is your sustaining force and drive?
Would they know it is Him that leads you to do good? Can you lay down what
you want to take up what Father wants?

During this week practice your stillness to refresh your memory of the pure
and sustaining love of Father. How is your soul refreshed, re-energized,
rejuvenated, and ready to serve? Have discussions with one another. That is
all. I would be most happy to meet with you each during your journaling
time. Feel free to ask me anything--I will be there. My precious friends, I

This is a most interesting example of how 'yellow' journalism mixes things
together to get some mileage out of a story.  We should be careful not to
believe anything that was said about these people in this article since
they have distorted truth so poignantly. Such harlotry merits no consideration.

Thanks again for this information. I checked out the web site and sent them
a message to make contact with them. It is hoped that we will have a chance
to find out who and what is happening here in reality as opposed to
media-distorted mammon.

GARDINER -- The former headquarters of a forest-industry giant soon will
be home to a New Age religious group from California that espouses love,
spiritual power and communal living, while selling liquor-license consulting
services.

Residents of this former mill town don't know quite what to expect.

Living Love Fellowship, a nonprofit religious corporation, and its for-profit
sister Compliance Service of America, a consulting firm, aremoving in
April into one of the finest office spaces on the Southern Oregon coast:
the former International Paper mill office.

The owners of the former Santa Rosa, Calif., companies, who are renting
a ranch in Roseburg, call themselves Amadonians and spread their
message via the Internet.  Amadon is a figure in "The Urantia Book,"
purported to be a bible authored by extraterrestrials who refer to Earth as
Urantia, according to religion scholars.  Amadon is a heroic character who
keeps his faith when those around him give up and follow Lucifer.

It might take awhile for the Amadonians to fit in, but residents are happy
for any new business.  Compliance Service is the first company with more
than three employees to open in Gardiner in at least five years.

Townsfolk had hoped the company would hire local employees.  About 300
people in Gardiner and Reedsport lost their jobs in February 1999 when
International Paper closed its mill.

Compliance officials said they are bringing their employees with them, but
they anticipate spending about $175,000 a year in the area, including
payroll.  Sara Schorske, Compliance Service's principal partner, said the
companies, which employed 30 in California, are more efficient with fewer
employees.

About eight of the 11 employees will live on the second floor of the 17,000
square-foot mill office.  The first floor will house office space.  The
business arm of the group, Compliance Service, helps restaurants, bars
and resorts apply for liquor licenses by guiding them through the thicket
of regulations that differ by jurisdiction.

As for the new companies' spiritual and communal side, locals are
reserving judgment.

"That's funny," said Garry Whitcomb, a former marine mechanic, when he
learned of the companies' background.  "You can't believe how funny that
is."

Compliance employees run Living Love Fellowship in their spare time,
answering spiritual and relationship questions online at
www.livinglovefellowship.org.  Their leader, Steve Arden, also known as
Amadon Amadon, will publish his spiritual works online.

The blend of New Age religion and entrepreneurship didn't work for two
former employees in Santa Rosa who filed a sexual harassment and
religious discrimination lawsuit in 1996 against the companies, known
then as Compliance Specialists and Havona.

Karen Rothaermel and Lisa Hertel said in the suit that employees were
encouraged to touch one another and to allow themselves to be touched.
They also said they were urged not to repress their sexuality at work.

Schorske said the lawsuit forced the companies to file bankruptcy and
settle out of court for an undisclosed sum in 1996.  The partners
re-incorporated as Compliance Service of America and Living Love
Fellowship and moved to Oregon last year.

Schorske said the companies were in the midst of developing software
for the alcohol-licensing business and had sunk most of their money
into the project when the lawsuit hit.

Schorske denied any sexual harassment or religious discrimination as
described in the lawsuit.

"They weren't trying to get some sort of moral victory.  They just wanted
to sue us for money," she said.

Rothaermel disagreed.  "It was not about money," she said.  "It was
wrong, morally wrong."

The lawsuit portrayed Arden as a foul-mouthed zealot who psychologically
controlled his workers.  The two women said he walked through the office
daily to evaluate the spiritual and psychological state of employees' minds,
frequently touching them and asking about their personal lives.

Rothaermel, a receptionist, and Hertel, a saleswoman, said Arden went
too far several times, asking Hertel about her sex life and telling her she
needed to show more cleavage.  Rothaermel said Arden kissed her on the
lips during a weekly spiritual meeting that the employees were pressured
to attend.

Rothaermel said she recalls seeing two employees kneel to rub Arden's
feet at the end of the last meeting she attended.

"It was the weirdest experience I've ever had in my life," she said.

Arden couldn't be reached for comment.  Schorske said he doesn't talk to
the news media.

Nontraditional religious and spiritual communities historically have found
room to settle in rural Oregon, but the state's experience with the
Rajneeshees in the 1980s left many suspicious of such groups.  The
Rajneeshees turned a ranch in Central Oregon into a small city in
defiance of state land-use planning laws.  Two former leaders were
sentenced to prison for plotting to kill the U.S. attorney.  Others pleaded
guilty or were convicted of crimes including immigration fraud,
attempted murder, burglary, arson, illegal wiretapping and poisoning
700 people with salmonella in The Dalles.

Founders of Heaven's Gate, whose members committed mass suicide
in California in 1997, believing they would be taken aboard a UFO,
recruited members in Waldport, Newport and Eugene.

Scholars who study U.S. religions had not heard of the Amadonians
but were familiar with Urantia, which one professor described as a
"quiet, tame little group."

"Within the movement, you get a whole range from bored housewives
to fringe hippie types, all of whom have found some inspiration in the
book," said J. Gordon Melton, director of the Institute for the Study of
American Religion in Santa Barbara, Calif.

"It's not a classic religious cult.  It's more like somebody trying to build
an extended family . . . an artificial family," Melton said.

The Amadonians refer to their group as "the family" or "the community."
Susan Ingalls spent five years with the Amadonians in Santa Rosa
before leaving to pursue a different career.  She lived communally with
them for a month.

"When you connect with them, you feel like a family, a family you can
count on, people you can talk to," Ingalls said.

One of the Amadonians bonded so closely with Arden she changed her
last name to Nedra -- Arden spelled backward.

Unlike Amadonians, Urantia followers usually don't live communally.
Instead, they meet in study groups to discuss "The Urantia Book,"
according to Melton.

The 2,097-page book, which the faithful believe was channeled through
an Earthling more than 50 years ago, includes Jesus, Adam and other
religious figures, but it gives a new spin to the stories and the history of
the world.

According to the Urantia Foundation's Web site, the group promotes all
humans as one family under a single God.  It does not advocate a new
religion and builds on other religions.

Amadonians promote a similar belief.

"We feel what we have to offer people should not take away from what
people follow otherwise.  It's a supplement," Schorske said.

Former Amadonian Elise Baril said it's challenging for conservative
people to accept the group, and she wasn't sure how no-nonsense mill
workers would receive them.

"They think outside the box.  They're a family structure that's not blood,"
she said.  "In general, I support them.  I have some specific issues with
them and their philosophies, but they're certainly not anything to be
afraid of.  They're well-intentioned people."

Schorske said the group will be good neighbors.

"We're very mainstream people," Schorske said.  "We are not trying to
control anybody's thoughts or get anybody to join our group."

Gardiner residents might simply be thankful the Amadonians are saving
the only office building in town.  Residents worried that the Cedar Palace,
as they call it, would be demolished, like most of the other mills.

International Paper built the 200-employee office in the late 1970s for
$1.6 million; Living Love paid $350,000 for the building and seven acres.
Two-million-board feet of clear old-growth timber went into the building.
Only one knot hole exists in the structure, said Ted Walters, chairman of
the Business Recruitment and Retention Committee in Reedsport, just
south of Gardiner.

"It's a pretty awesome building."

Hi Marty,

You appear to be a proud new list owner.  Good job.  I'm pasting the welcome
message the list sent, so you can see how they fill it out from your input, and
adjust accordingly.  Now that the test list is up, you can edit any of it's
settings, and create any new lists you want to.  I think they archive all the
messages on their site too.

As far as the options they give you, here's some input based soley on my own
personal preferences and views on the internet.  I'd try to keep the actual
email address as short as possible.  Short, cute & catchy seem to stick best to
brain tissue.  Views vary widely on this, but i think it's always preferable to
invite people, as opposed to signing them up (except for instances like this,
where i asked you to sign me up).

How do you feel about the product at this point?  Have you taken the tour on
their web site yet?
