Description

Welcome to Libraries, Information and Society (Lib-Info-Society)!
This is a forum for education, training and exchange of theories, concepts, ideas, methodologies and methods, etc. about the relationships among: a) the diverse types of Documental Information Institutions (DIIs); b) the documental information; c) its practical or theoretical workers; and d) society. One of its main aims is to defend the documental-informational ethics of to create, gather, organize, and disseminate documental information in a free of charge, free, democratic and unhampered way through DIIs mainly from the public arena, by analysing, criticising, resisting and even transforming --with a critical and skeptical thinking and democratic debate-- all the ethical, legal, political or of any other type of barriers which block and obstacle its free development.

The list is not moderated and its members must respect in an unhampered way and at all times the freedom of expression of any opinion.

"I don't need to emphasize more that freedom of teaching and freedom of opninion in the literature and in the press are the foundations for the natural development of any individual." --A. Einstein. (1936). In: Einstein, A. (1995). On Humanism: Writings on Politics, Society and Science. Barcelona: Paidos, p.68.
