From http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124640564559176649.html and front page of today's Wall Street Journal:

Lexington has 1,261 benefits-eligible active employees, of which 1,126 (or 89%) get their health insurance from Lexington, or 37% more than Wal-Mart's 52% figure.
If 37% of our employees got their health insurance "elsewhere" (i.e. from their spouse's employer) instead of from Lexington, Lexington would save $8 million annually (37% x 1,261 x $17,046 [FY10 Town cost per family plan] = $8 million).
When will the Town Manager or the Selectmen answer the suggestion that a Health Benefits Committee (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lex-tmma/message/11584) be formed to look into such issues?
