Description

Avete Omnes!

Welcome to the message board for the Legion Six Historical Foundation, Inc., a Federally recognized 501 (c) 3 public educational charity. We're living historians who portray the Roman citizens and other locals that populate the second century colonae at Eboracum, or York, in northern Britain during Hadrian's reign. Our diverse membership comes from all walks of life and while our events primarily occur in the Southern California and Arizona regions, members from all over are encouraged and supported.

While many of us are soldiers from the garison and the nearby Hadrian's Wall forts, we welcome and encourage impressions that educate about all sorts of people from this exciting and important period of history. Without the civilizing influence of the lawmakers, merchants, engineers and artisans that followed the legions into the frontiers of Rome, our own government, legal and economic systems would not be what they are today.

Pictured here are our seasoned Centurio and Optio inspecting the troops at morning muster, while 2 women of the Emperor's household look on from a distance at Old Fort Macaurthur Days in San Pedro, CA. See the photos index of this site for other recent events.

So, come join us to recreate the Roman Empire either in armor, a toga, or a stola. Or just learn or contribute what you can on this forum. We use it to teach each other, answer questions and keep informed about the groups' events, meetings and workshops.
