The Learn To Knit Afghan Book by Barbara Walker is wonderful for beginners . Each afghan square teaches a new pattern ranging from garter stitch to intricate designs.

I completed many of these squares, but made the mistake of omitting many of the more complicated ones.

However, the skills I learned from those I did knit enabled me to knit several wonderful projects using colors and patterns I never would have learned otherwise.

Keep in mind that this is NOT a tutorial. It merely provides a forum to share your squares in photo, post your glitches and successes and exchange ideas with others on solving problems encountered knitting the squares.
