This group is dedicated to the first-amendment-protected right to discuss law and legal issues. Any legal issue can be brought up and discussed by the members of this group. Vigorous debate is encouraged but provision of evidence to support one's points is required in any vigorous debate.

Personal attacks and vulgar language directed at any member (doesn't include dumb comments; those are fair game--the messenger is NOT) will only be allowed three times. After the first, the member will be warned. After the second, the member will be put on probation (having their posts monitored and requiring approval by the moderator). The third violation will result in removal from the list.

One other rule to which I insist on adherence is our no-spam policy. Anyone who is allowed to join the list and who spams the list will be removed after one warning. Also, the SNIP rule is in effect.

We are here to help one another through this quagmire known as the legal system. Anything else is not constructive.

Private posts to the moderator, me, or anyone else on this list, should not be sent unless there is an extremely important or privacy reason. Privacy does NOT include questions about specific case. If you have a case that you need to keep quiet, then use false names or don't send it. This is a law discussion group, not a legal help forum.

Everyone entering this forum should invest in a procedure book that discusses types of motions and other legal documents. This is a working forum. Anyone who doesn't want to work will be on the outside again. There is no silver bullet. Freedom is a fight; it is not free.
