The High-tech aerowings are unique to the Laser eps, and they create a perfect
helm position, give reassuring extra buoyancy, and stability, and are fully adjustable to compensate for helms of differing weights.
The Laser eps has a lightweight carbon composite spar held up by a mini-stay system. Comprising two stub-shrouds and a mini-forestay attached to a bearing on the mast at
gooseneck level, the mini-stay system provides the helm with sophisticated rig control, and enables the rig to be tuned for optimum power according to the conditions. It also allows the boom to be extended beyond the shrouds for fast, Olympic Laser-style downwind sailing.
