Join LaGarou for 4 days and 3 nights at beautiful Lothlorien Nature
Sanctuary located in Needmore, Indiana. The purpose of CampOUT is to
bring together FTMs, Transgender people, and their allies to explore
and educate each other in their mutual interests of Leather and BDSM,
and FTM Issues.
Registration includes 3 meals a day with vegan and vegetarian
selections, firewood, restroom supplies, and hot showers. There will
be scheduled Demonstrations, Workshops, and Rituals about leather,
BDSM, and FTM/transgender issues. LaGarou will also be having it's
3rd national meeting on Saturday the 29th. Anyone not able to attend
the entire CampOUT but who is a pledge or interested in LaGarou the
club should make arrangements to be at the meeting.

Admission Information:
Thursday through Sunday EARLY BIRD pre-registration admission is $90
if paid by JUNE 1st, regular pre-registration is $100 if paid by July
1st .  Friday through Sunday weekend EARLY BIRD pre-registration is
$65 if paid by MAY 1st, regular weekeend pre-registration is $75 if
paid by July 1st. The weekend rate does not include the Friday
evening meal. You can buy a Friday meal ticket for $5.00.

Brief info about the film: Drawing upon the African
American tradition of storytelling, this project will document the oral
narratives of three transgendered (those who have undergone some form of
gender reassignment surgery or hormone therapy) African Americans who tell
their story of the process in which they came to terms with their gender
identity. Through the testimonies of black FTM's and MTF's, this film
will examine the intersections of race, class and gender as they apply
to black queers who have transitioned, or, are transitioning. In
particular, the project seeks
to address the implications of and the complexities of
a queer sexual identity within the majority of the black community
and our society at large, which deems compulsory biological heterosexual
activities as the norm, while ignoring transgendered issues.

Subsequently, this film will
address the explicit and implicit homophobia that is
rampant in the black community and expose the ways in which transgendered
individuals have learned to overcome these barriers and form
communities amongst other African Americans during/after their
transitioning
process.

We are seeking volunteers for CampOUT 2006. CampOUT will again be
taking place at Lothlorien Nature Sanctuary just south of
Bloomington, Indiana. People who volunteer for CampOUT will pay the
reduced rate of $50 which will cover admittance to the land,
firewood, toilet paper, and food. CampOUT will provide 3 meals a day,
and will accomodate any food allergies or dietary restrictions, and
every meal will already have vegan and vegetarian selections. Below
is a list of the positions and their descriptions. If you would like

SET UP/CLEAN UP: This crew will only work Wednesday, and Sunday.
These positions require you be at Lothlorien during the entire
campout. Set Up will include taking care of last minute details.
Clean Up will include picking up anything left behind, reseeding the
grass, making sure everything is back to the way it was when we
arrived.

GROUNDS MAINTENANCE: Stock privies with; toilets paper, paper towels,
saw dust, and sweep as needed. Stock wood piles with more fire wood.

KITCHEN: Assist in the kitchen with prep, cooking, clean up, and
serving.

PARKING & REGSTRATION: Directing people where to park, and keeping an
eye on the lot. Helping check people in.

TRANSPORTATION: Picking up, and dropping off people from the
Indianapolis Airport, bus stations, and train stations

ENTERTAINMENT: Assisting with setting up and tearing down for
entertainment and activities planned during CampOUT
