Hey Greg
Let me know how you did.  Check out my pics from the TX ranch.  I had a first, catching a nice bass on my grandfathers fly fishing rig.    Keith

I fished prien lake right around the channel under 210 bridge.  I hooked into 2 nice reds and 2 trout on the other side of the channel and lost them at the boat partially thanks to no net.  Had about 5 other throwback trout and rats.  Caught everything on white/chartreuse sand eel jrs and gulp shrimp under cork.  The water had good visibility and was stained brown and salinity is getting right.  Ended up w/ a nice trout and flounder but more heart breaking was missing my first trifactor unfortunately.

Greg,

I just got back from V-Bay in my Bass Boat. Launched at Intracoastal City and fished redfish point area after work, did not start fishing until 10:30am. Caught some big trout and a nice redfish. The redfish was 25" and the trout almost as big. Will be back tomorrow morning.

Sounds good Greg.  I will think about it.
One thought I had was to show the new Kayak Fishing DVD.  Or maybe
half the film at one meeting and half at another.
Also - The Yak Gear guy said he would do an outfitting seminar for us
at some point.  He would be good for the group - as he can address
outfitting issues.
Another idea is to see if we could get a guide like Danny Wray to
come.  I heard there's a kayak fishing guide now somewhere in the Lake
Charles area.
I will keep in mind trying to come up with other ideas.

I also wanted to mention that I want to make sure everyone in the club
knows about our night with Pete Cooper.  He's a fishing writer for
several magazines and has written 2 books.  He'll be talking at P&P a
week from Thursday (the 16th) at 6pm.  Here's our link:
http://www.packpaddle.com/serverside/tripdetail.asp?id=215

I'll be at the meeting tonight - Looking forward to it!

I went and fished Cypremort point this Sunday. I did farly well. I
caught a hand full of trout and a red. The trout were caught on
spinning gear and the red on fly. The wind was blowing from the east
at 5 to 10 kts. I made three long drifts in the cove over the shell
reefs catch all the trout in 6 to 7 feet of water. I believe that in 3
weeks or so the fishing well be outstanding in this area for trout.
Maybe a club outing?

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to tell ya'll that I went kayak fishing with Jeshua Smith
last Friday at Whiskey Chitto. We kayaked 12 miles of creek and
caught our limit of bass. Spotted and Largemouth. And we threw back
a lot of fish as well. Lots of fun and beautiful clear running water.
We put in at Carpenters bridge and took out at Hwy 190 on the
Calcasieu. The Whiskey Chitto flows into the Calcasieu 1/2 mile
before the bridge. We fished with ultralight gear throwing buzz baits
and plastics.

I tried to go to Cypremort Point on Thursday but the bridge is out. We ended up
fishing the bayou near the bridge. It's good water for a kayak however we did
not catch any fish. I used shrimp and the other guy was using artificials..
