This list is set up for the benefit of lactivists across the United States to chat about breastfeeding activism that is taking place and to organize future actions. It is a central location for the quick dissemination of information on the grassroots level and serves as a central repository for documents and relevant materials.
Please feel free to join us in chatting, but please be mindful of the guidelines posted below:
1. We are a lactation activist list only - articles about cosleeping, vaxing, non-vaxing, ec, etc. are not within the scope of our list. If you are posting such an article, please make clear its relevance and relation to breastfeeding activism.
2. Posts should be relevant and important to the entire United States. We want to know what's going on in your community, please keep us informed. On that note, however, please take anything very specific (ie get together time, place, directions, etc.) offlist.
3. Be respectful when posting. If there's even one iota of doubt in your mind as to how your post might be perceived, please take time to sit on it and revisit it before sending it out.
4. If you take personal issue with something someone has said, please assume that they had the best of intentions and if you would like to reply personally with something that will not be relevant to all members of the list, please email that person directly. Feel free to cc a moderator, if you would like.
5. Be specific when making requests and be sure that all necessary information is included. For example, if you would like members to write a letter to someone, make sure to give them as much information as possible, name, address, email, etc. We will be much more effective in our responses if not everyone has to go dig for the same information - and we will all have more time to do lactivism!
6. This list will be going to unmoderated status, however, we reserve the right to put it back on moderated status at any time.
7. If

Re: Payless shoe store
I totally get your outrage but I would be sure in communicating with Payless that you are clear about what NYS law says and requires. *NY CLS Civ R § 79-e
