The Los Angeles Compassionate Heart Sangha is a warm, eclectic group of all ages and ethnicities practicing Zen Buddhism in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh.

We vary in our experience with meditation and the study of Buddhism, but share a common desire to engage in mindfulness, compassion and loving kindness in our daily lives. Our weekly Sangha meetings support each other's practice.

On Sundays from 11:00am to 1:00pm, we meet at the Woman's Club of Hollywood at 1749 N. La Brea Ave. (just south of Franklin Ave.), Los Angeles, CA 90046, in the bright and comfortable room upstairs (enter through the main entrance.)

Along with sitting and walking meditation, we study Buddhist sutras, Dharma talks and writings by Thich Nhat Hanh at our meetings, recite the Five and Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings, sing, chant and share from the heart during Dharma discussion.

The first Sunday of each month is "Welcoming Sunday" when we especially welcome newcomers, as well as "old-timers" who used to come but haven't been able to for a while. After Sangha, at 1:00pm, all are welcome to stay for tea and treats, and to enjoy one another's company.
