The party organized by members of the mamorukai (support group to
eliminate discriminatory treatment of foreign teachers at the
Prefectural University of Kumamoto) last night was a success. There were
many new faces and people were able to get together in a friendly,
informal atmosphere and touch upon issues such as discrimination and the
case at Kendai -- and of course subjects of a more general interest.
I want to thank the organizers and the the many people who showed up to
make a vibrant and fun evening. I look forward to more such enjoyable
events in the coming months.
Many regards,
Cynthia Worthington
