Description

This is a forum in which to discuss the use, cultivation, and ethnobotany of kratom. Kratom (Mitragyna Speciosa) is a tree native to Thailand and other parts of Southeast Asia. Kratom leaf has analgesic, stimulant, and anti-fever properties. Traditionally, it has been used as a relaxing herb, a medicinal plant and a cooking ingredient. It has also been taken as a cure for opiate addiction, since kratom itself is only very slightly habituating, on the order of caffeine. During World War II, the Japanese-backed puppet government in Thailand banned kratom for dubious and cynical reasons. However, it currently remains legal throughout most of the world.

It is hoped that this forum serves as a place to share information on this interesting and rare ethnobotanical and its use with other herbs.

Disclaimer. This group is intended to discuss the legal and safe use of kratom. We are NOT breaking US law by using kratom, and this list does not endorse any criminal activity. Kratom is a substance that can be, and is being, used safely, responsibly and legally. However, it is prudent to assume that police and various government bureaus are watching lists such as this one. Please do NOT post anything that could be construed as an admission of criminal activity, or that could be construed as evidence of intent to commit any criminal action in the future.

If you would like kratom to remain legal, please do your part. Use kratom responsibly and with restraint. Do not give kratom to minors or irresponsible people. Avoid kratom-related activities that may lead to media attention. Avoid using kratom in public or in social situations. Be respectable members of your community and living examples of responsible kratom use. Support organizations working to reform current drug laws and stop the Drug War.
