INTRODUCTION & MUSINGS
Welcome All!
So, what's it all about man?
Keep On Truckin' Re-Visited is a moderated newsletter/list
about the time between the mid 60s and mid 70s. It was designed
to examine and present a positive nostalgia of a time since
past. It is also designed to provide a forum for you to share
your feelings, thoughts and experiences from that time frame.
Please participate and help this community to grow.

New Beginnings
This is the start of the 5th year for KOTRV. Wow, where has
all the time gone?
Just want to say thank you to all of you who subscribe to this
newsletter. It is still fun to put this mess together even after
this long.
I am looking for some fresh ideas for this rag, so if you have
any, please share them with me. A little change here and there
might be good for this newsletter.
----->
Share your good old days picture!
Okay folks, now is a good time to dig into your old photo
archives and select one of your favorite pictures showing you,
you and your friends, you and your dog, whatever, living large
and having a good time back in the day. Scan it in and email it
to me.. If I get enough pictures I will set up a special page on
the KOTRV website and share them with the rest of the world.
Ok now, send it to: mailto:

More fluff... less stuff...
So, warm up the lava lamp, have a little to much to dream with
the Electric Prunes, flip on the black light, then put on your
love beads, your headband, bell-bottomed pants, put a flower in
your hair, get yourself in the proper state of mind, kick back,
and experience the rest of the newsletter.

What is beauty?
Not the show
Of shapely limbs and features. No.
These are but flowers
That have their dated hours
To breathe their momentary sweets, then go.
'Tis the stainless soul within
That outshines the fairest skin.
-- Sir A. Hunt.

As a former contributor to the Chicago Seed (Tim Yippie!) and
someone who was involved with everything from the Chicago 8
Defense Committee to the Blessed Realm Light Show back in the
day, your site seems like a fun way to look back at a time I
never thought would be forgotten. Surely, the MC5 was going to
be playing as the Revolution raged on, thermite bombs reducing
the Military Industrial Complex to dust in the wind while we
tripped and laughed and made love...but then the Seventies hit
hard, apathy atrophied most of us and Disco was the death knell
heard 'round the world. I segued into punk rock and...well,
let's hear more from you guys!
Tim Yippie!

if you remember the line-up at Mosport way back when. I was
there, but who can remember.

Wow!
Remember wearing the Copper POW Bracelets
(engraved with the name of a Prisoner-of-War)?
I wish I remember what happened to my Bracelet...
and, more importantly, what happened to *my*
POW.....
This last Newsletter, filled with people's
remembrances, was so moving.
Were the *times* ('60's-'70's) THAT much
more "innocent"? Or, were WE simply
more innocent? Both, I think.
I regret that I don't remember the '50's (being born
in '57!) but I am grateful to have (some) memories
of the '60's.
It's nice to read a Newsletter that reminds me
of a "gentler' time......
Thanks!

Hey, I was just wondering, is the phrase saying "Keep On Truckin"
solely a hippie saying? Has this always been associated with the
60's-70's or is it just occasionally?
Thanks,

What Happened to our idealism? Hegel's Dialectics baby! We were
the antithesis that became the new thesis. And one day we will
be brought down by a new antithesis. Its the way of things.

Editorial Reviews
From Rough Guides
This re-release of the Electric Prunes' debut is a wildly
inconsistent yet fascinating album. "Sold To The Highest Bidder"
sounds as fresh today as it did thirty years ago and "Get Me To
The World On Time" finds American psychedelia at its zenith,
whereas the acid vaudeville of "Toonerville Trolley" has dated
so badly that it's charming grooves now sound thoroughly
antiquated. Best of all...see more at amazon.com.
