KOL DODI, the Midrasha Community Chorale of MetroWest section of the Jewish Federation in New Jersey, is a 60 voice ensemble specializing in the full spectrum of music arising out of various Jewish traditions. The music includes texts in English, Hebrew, Yiddish and Ladino, as well as texts used in Jewish worship or based on Jewish folklore. Since its formation in 1991, KOL DODI has remained committed to the highest quality performance of this literature, literature which spans thousands of years, four continents, and a variety of styles, both vernacular and cultivated. KOL DODI's programs reflect its commitment to both the musical and Jewish communities with projects ranging from free concerts for MetroWest area community groups, to appearances at area synagogues and participation with other choruses in major performances of choral-orchestral repertoire. While most concerts are given in the MetroWest area, KOL DODI has performed in New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Israel.
