Kite patents filed in any nation's patent system is the keen focus of this group. Discussion of claims and exposed ideas is invited. Establishing a comprehensive resource of kite patents is one project of the group. Kite structure patents, kite flying patents, method of kite manufacturing patents, kite line handling patents, free-flight kiting system patents, patents describing uses of kite systems, etc. are included. Ornamental visual appearance "design" kite patents are also in focus besides mechanical utility process and function patents. Comparing claims can be fun and source of creative kite designing. Showing builds of claims via phtographs and videos is invited.
Parachutes, especially those that may be guided and glided are free-flight kite systems; the patents concerning such devices are of interest to the purpose of this group. The gliding canopy reaches into paragliders of the non-framed and framed sorts (types of kite hang gliders); these also are in the view of this group's purpose. As are kite hang gliders where the pilot is the falling anchor resisting through a set of hang lines to the flying wing. Also, tethers flying wings at both ends of the tether set are included kite systems for this group.
