Description

Kwe kwe, Hello! Kisikew is a homophone for Gisigu (Mi'kmaq), which means "Old Man". This eGroup is for news, commentary, and discussion about Indigenous issues of interest to the Original peoples of North America (Great Turtle Island) from different perspectives. Although the focus of this cyber community will be on the Dawn Land and the Sovereign Nations of the Wabanaki Confederacy, peoples of all Indigenous Nations, including outlanders and Urban NDNs, are welcome to post here. Your first post will be moderated so that we can weed out spam-bots. Don't come here to promote your commerce or business, we're not interested and may consider it spam. About us: We are Non-Status, not enrolled, not represented by AFN/CAP, and we don't wannabe! We're not "Indians", "Indians" are from "India". We're not "aboriginals", we are Original people, L'nu'k, Onkwehonweh, our mothers originated on this continent. We're not "Savages" and never were, our civilisations pre-date those of Europe. We are Indigenous to Great Turtle Island, we are North American Indigenes! Wela'lin, Nia:wen, Thank you
