Before this week ends and a new one begins, a big frosty Kiker cheer to the Dads on Duty -
Allen David, Martyn Buffler, Patrick Horner, Bryan Landwermeyer, Gal Perlmutter, and
Rick Zimmerman - who cheerfully and energetically led the 1st and 2nd graders in a
round of outdoor games today after lunch.  The kids love this program and we're so
thankful for the Dads who can work this into their schedule.

Take note of the opportunity to share your opinions with AISD as the District faces
difficult decisions about budget shortfalls for 2010-2011.  There is a link in the
Comments this week and the survey will take about ten minutes of your time.
It's time well spent.

I hear the sun is coming out again on Sunday. . . YAHOO!

Is it cold enough for you?
Are you oh so SUPER excited about the suggestion of snow?
The kids are daydreaming about running home this afternoon
and sledding down the Escarpment hills on trash can lids!
Ahhhh youth. . . .

As for school closing early, there is no plan for that at this time.
Please stay tuned to the news or the AISD website if the weather
changes unexpectedly.  At this time, we're not anticipating an
early release.

Bundle up, bring in your plants, and enjoy the seasonal chill.

Autumn has finally found it's way to Austin.

Here are a few highlights you won't want to overlook this week:
  • The coat drive for Allison Elementary continues through December 4
  • Math Pentathlon is about to begin and is in need of a few faithful volunteers
(and no, you don't have to be a math whiz to be a part of this great program)
  • Camp Read is still looking for people who love to read and be read to
  • Kiker has a new policy regarding dogs on campus

Finally, a loud Kiker CONGRATULATIONS goes out to our Kindergarten
teacher, Michelle Edwards, who is getting married this evening.   We wish
Ms. Edwards and her new husband a long and happy life together.

Atttached is information regarding Red Ribbon Week which
begins on November 16, and a wrap-up from the Book Fair
which the library recently hosted.

You are such an amazingly generous and caring community.

Thank you for caring about and supporting all the youngsters
who cross your path.
