Expatriates have no stakes in Bangladesh. When one has no stake in
one country but have a birth right in it, he or she can chose to do
whatever he or she wants with that birth right. In some cases, if
the birth occured before 1971, then technically that individual is
not an exptriate of Bangladesh but an expatriate of East Pakistan.
In that case, the expatriate has even less stake in the future of
the country of his origin because he never originated from
Bangladesh but originated from East Pakistan or British-India.
Virtually all Bengali hindus with ethnic ties to East Bengal, who
migrated to India and later to the United States, can claim that
they are of Bangladeshi descent. I have seen these people
fundraising for flood relief on the campuses of American
universities and in communities all over the United States, funds
that they never sent to Bangladesh but spent in their Puja. Dear
Bangladeshi readers, is this fair? Should we allow our distress to
be exploited by individuals with remote links and claims to our
nation? More specifically Bengali expatriates from our neighboring
country who claim remote citizenship and vague ties to Bangladesh as
their country of origin?
Treason is the primary sport of some adventurous expatriates who
feel that they have no political stake in Bangladesh as they are in
the sanctuary of another country but they can very safely engage in
Bangladesh bashing without being held accountable for it. In this
sport, there are lot of Indians, primarily Bengali Indians with
ancestral origins in East Bengal who were deprived by partition and
feel that they can now settle their score with Bangladesh by joining
in the feast of treason initiated by those insurgent expatriates of
Bangladeshi origin who are not comfortable with the believes of the
majority of the Bangladeshis. I will offer several examples of this
category.
(1) Jamal Hasan Poplu (poplu@...): If you type his name, you
will come across lots of posts by this cyber activist who is very
uncomfortable and disturbed by the belief system of the mainstream
of Bangladeshis. This man has resorted to cyber activism to
terrorize and bully individuals who share a belief system with the
mainstream of Bangladeshis.
(2) The Mukto-mona newsgroup by Avijit Chakrabarty, Mehul Kamdar,
Abul Hasnat Jaffor Ullah is another example. Avijit Chakrabrty is a
Bangladeshi hindu with strong grievances against the political
existence of Bangladesh and the nature and the belief systems of the
Bangladeshi people. He has sydicated with a former and retired
Indian intelligence officer, Mr. Mehul Kamdar, to collaborate in an
effort to demonize and belittle the faith of the people of
Bangladesh in the hope of dismembering the people of Bangladesh from
their belief system. In that effort, they have recruited Mr. Abul
Hasnath Jafoor Ullah who never lived in independent Bangladesh. Mr.
Jaffor Ullah left for the United States in Pakistan period to do his
Ph.d. in the Ohio State University. Mr. Jaffor Ullah happen to be my
uncle-in-law but since he has signed-up with Sajib Wajed Joy to work
hard as a cyber activist with Jamal Hasan Poplu to demonize the
right wing in Bangladesh, he needs to be exposed as well.
(3)Naeem Mohaimmen, Asif Saleh, Rezwanul-? Lopa Tasneem, Novita
Rahman, Tanweer Akram started am exptraite group called Drishtipat
that is basically the Young Bangladeshi wing of the Bangladesh Awami
League. Tasneem Khalil, an Awami League activist working for the
Daily Star was arrested by the military regime in April 2007 on
charges of blackmailing the DGDFI office through treasonous weblogs.
Although he was later released by the military regime on charges of
yellow journalism. As a result of request by the Daily Star editor,
Mr. Mahfuz Anam, he was later released by the army as a goodwill of
General Moyeen towards the media in Bangladesh. However, both
Tasneem Khalil and his dual citizen collaborators in Drishtipat (the
forum of the Young Awami Leaguers) remain high on the list of alerts
for treason. Most writers of Drishtipat are expatriates younger than
50 years of age and they have spanned in chapters from New York to
Berlin in support of causes promoted by Bangladesh Awami League and
the left wing of Bangladesh.
Is the Bangladesh Nationalist Party so well organized in the
cybersphere? The answer is, we are not interested in treason since
we are the children of the republic and belong to the republic. Are
we out there to bash out those treasonous Awamis out of cybersphere?
Absolutely. All Bangladeshis please be aware of those dual nationals
engaged in treason. I recently met a very important and high ranking
national security personnel from the Bangladesh Armed Forces who
came to talk to my father in our home in Gulshan and after I was
introduced, I have handed him a list of names of some expatriates
and cyber activists who I think are responsible for cancelling
General Moyeen U. Ahmed's programs at Harvard and who at one time
have cyber-campaigned against BNP and the people of Bangladesh.
Walls have ears too. Don't think you are very safe out there in the
cyber-space, sitting in some cosy corner in Europe or the United
States. We will find out who you are, find out who are all your
relations are and where they live in Bangladesh and put all of them
in jail as you can see a part of that process of implementation on
television everyday. We will blow you out of your hole if you do not
behave yourself.
God Bless Bangladesh, God Bless Begum Khaleda Zia and God Bless
General Moyeen U. Ahmed.
Regards,
Chowdhury Irad Ahmed Siddiky
Secretary, International, Diplomatic & Expatriate Affairs,
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
