Dear haijin,
Yes, I know, this is not the time of year to be writing about the
scorching sun! In fact, we are at the very opposite end of the year at
present, in the cold dry season -- the scorching sun on the other hand
is for the hot dry season, December to March of each year.
But Gabi sensei has just asked another group whether they had ever
written haiku about the scorching sun, and so, I did a little search
among the haiku of Kenya Saijiki and was amazed at how many I found!
Have a look at them. Some are already a couple of years old -- and we
have so many even though we never made a particular effort to collect
haiku under this kigo.
Well done, all of you! We have a great collection to present to Gabi,
and in the next few days, I shall write up the kigo page for the
internet -- we have sufficient haiku to make this a proper Kenya kigo
for the hot dry season.
Thanks to you all!
Isabelle.
