Description

All researchers interested in the surname Keesee (Kesee, Kezee, Keese, Keezee, etc.) are welcome to participate in this list. Although the origins of this family in America are unclear, the original immigrant is thought to be George Keesee, a Huguenot immigrant to Henrico County, Virginia, circa 1700. One son was Richard Keesee (c. 1729-1794) who was in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Richard had a son George Faris Keesee (died in 1825 in Sumner County, Tennessee)who married Agnes (Terry?). George F. Keesee's children married into the Smith, McKnight, Mills, Lyon, Henry, Saunders/Sanders, and Ball families. Descendants spread out through Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. All other Keesee lines also welcome.

Photo is Gideon Keesee, s/o Thomas Keesee Sr. (George Faris Keesee, Richard Keesee, George Keesee-Immigrant)

Yes, that has been stated often but no proof has ever been found. The were close to the Clardy (Clarady, various spellings) family (pronounced CLAIR-a-day) and
