Hi Thea,

I am looking for a Bridget Kean
Kennedy. She was born in Lisdeen, Co. Clare and was buried
in Chicago in 1891. I am sorry I don't know anymore
about her. I know in her obituary it said post to
Canada and Eastern papers, so I assume she had relatives
there. She had four children. She was my gg grandmother.
I don't know her husbands first name but assumed
she married him in Ireland because two of her
children were born there.
Thanks,
Ann Smith
I have been searching for years for the marriage
of my 3rd ggparents Michael KANE and Elisabeth
CLARK(E) but have had no luck....They are found in
d'Yamaska (Canada) in early 1800 at the birth of my 2nd
ggrandfather (also Michael) but cannot find where they were
from originally (what county in Ireland) or where they
were married.

If anyone has a connection to
this family or suggestions as to how I can find this
information, I would certainly appreciate hearing from them
either on this site or at my email address
below.

Thanks,

Elizabeth McDonald
jag4847@...

Hi Susielct!

YES!! It sure does get
confusing!

Hickey is my maiden name and I only go back as far as my
Grandfather and Grandmother on that family line. We could
have a connection somewhere, but I'm not sure at the
moment. I will make a note to myself in case we do indeed
have a connection. My Hickey line goes out more than
back. I have been working on my Mother's side of the
family which is the Keane/Kane O'Connell
branch.

Have a great day! :)

Shootinstarz
I see you have a surname of Hickey in your
background. We have that too. My great grandfather's sister,
Katherine, in Ireland married name of Hickey. Inherited
family farm from brother William. Katherine's daughter
married an Ahern. Wow, get's confusing, doesn't it?
Katey

I don't know the time frame, but our
Patrick settled in Hartford, CT. Never married. Died in
Ireland while on a visit there. A lot of the ancestors
seemed to have remained single. No wonder there's so few
of us!!
Hi Keane/Kane members! :)

I am currently
at a roadblock searching for my Keane/Kane family. I
am looking for my GGrandparents James Keane/Kane and
Helena (Ellen) O'Connell Keane/Kane. Apparently they
came from Ireland. Don't know if they married in
Ireland or the USA. I am guessing that Helena was born
between 1845 and 1860. She worked at Bellevue Hospital in
New York City as a cook. I don't know much about
James at the moment. James and Helena had 8
children...4 boys and 4 girls. They are William Keane, Thomas
Keane, John Keane and James Keane. I know that James
Keane was born June 19, 1886. The girls are Nellie
Keane (married December 23, 1894 in Immaculate
Conception in New York City), Kate Keane (might be
Katherine), Mamie (might be Margaret or Mary) Keane and my
Grandmother Anna Keane (Kane) Healey born December 1, 1888.
She was baptized at Immaculate Conception in NYC.
Anna died April 19,1995 and is buried in St. Johns'
Cemetery in Woodside, NY.

Other than Nellie,
James, and Anna... I have not been able to find any
information on this Keane/Kane family. Their surname changes
from Keane to Kane and Kane to Keane from year to year
and document to document.

If anyone can claim
my Keane/Kane family or if you have an
O'Connell~Keane connection PLEASE contact me! :)

Surnames: Keane/Kane, O'Connell, Healey, Hickey, Schmidt,
and more!

ShootinStarz

What time frame are you in Susie? Patrick sounds
familiar for me. He lived in South Boston about 1910-1920.
He married a woman named Annie and had 4-5 children.
One of them, Anthony Joseph, was my husband's
grandfather.
Good to find a dedicated Keane page. I'm
wondering what happened to my grandfather, Dennis (Denis)
Keane who left Cloonlavis, Knock, Co Mayo in the mid to
late 1920's & went to USA (possibly Chicago) leaving
behind his wife Brigid & 4 children, John, Nora, Mary &
Michael. ANy one have any ideas??
Hi folks. I'm a great granddaughter of Joseph
Keane, son of Daniel and Catherine Keane. He supposedly
ran away from home (Bali Butler, Middleton, County
Cork)by jumping over stonewall and stowed away on a ship
to America at age 16. Settled in Hartford, CT. Came
to Portland, CT to work in the brownstone quarries.
Siblings were William, inherited family farm in Ireland;
Margaret, Patrick, Mary, Lillian, Katherine and Daniel. Any
relatives out there?
I'm looking for information on Anthony Joseph
Keane from the South Boston. He was born Feb 12, 1901.
He died on January 12, 1947 in Fort Worth, Texas. He
had a sister named Sarah who married Michael Walsh.
Any help would be appreciated!
Hello:
I was very pleased to locate this
forum and look forward to participation here.
My
maternal grandfather, Patrick Joseph KEANE, was born in
Dublin in 1891 and died in New Yrk City in 1923. My
scanty information indicates that his father was Peter
KEANE and mother Marie DEDDWITH(or so it appears on
Patrick's death certificate..the only document I possess
that mentions his parents.I cannot be certain of the
spelling as the handwriting is not completely clear).
Patrick came to the US around 1912, served in the US
Army, married my grandmother, Rose WICKHAM, in New York
City in 1920, and they had three children, including
my mother.
I would love to connect with anyone
with similiar interest.
Gary
