Hi Teresa and all, as you may have figured I can
now work my scanner, so I have sent a few
pics.

Check the pic of Cir Mhor which is a particularly
stunning mountain, which I failed to conquer as my friend
had an astma attack half way up. Oh well theres
always another day.

Hope your trip goes
well......John
I would like to personally thank member Chris
Nagorka for donating our new banner. Most of you will see
it this weekend and hopefully everyone will see it
by summers end. So if you like the banner and you
meet Chris, you might just say thanks!
I only have directions for once you get to
Covington/Hot springs VA so I'll post that much anyway. At
Covington take 220N to Warm Springs to 39W and go up the
hill past the Marina to our site. I hope the signs
direct everyone better. Again, look for our 6'X 2'
banner hanging at the campsite (unless you get there
before me [about noon]!) Last but not least here's the
phone number (540)839-2521 but you'll have to call by
the end of the day fri because they are not in
regular hours for the weekend. And as it turns out, more
people are actually coming to stay on Sunday night so
you are welcome to come for any part of the weekend
too. See you all there, Teresa.
I can understand why you don't attend the
wednesday hikes from Huntington. I wouldn't expect anyone
in your shoes to make it. I do hope that you will be
able to attend a weekend trip with us. I am sorry that
our wednesday hikes are only in Kanawha SF but that's
where the majority of us are locally in charleston. I'd
be happy to try and start something closer to you if
we can get enough people. Let me know, Teresa.
If you want a excuse why I didn't attend. I have
a job where I have to be at work at 5 am. If you
meet at 6:15pm, then a 2 hour hike then the drive back
to Huntington (for me), shower and all that fun
other stuff, it is going be 11pm getting to bed and
then getting up at 4 am. I am sorry, I am not as young
as I use to be and need a little more sleep than 5
hours. Gene
Now that we have a few members I think it's time
we start doing what all the other clubs do, chat!
I'd like some feedback here so please let me know
what you all think about a day and time of the week
that might be good for most of us to chat.
Did I mention 6:15? That's what time we'll be
departing for EVERY Wednesday hike. Not to worry if you
can't make the cut-off, I'll be posting our route and
the best points to intersect us. I'll let you know
where I decide to post the info for future reference.
Better to join us for half a hike than none at all!
Well, we did it! But where was everyone? We only
had 6 people show up and I know why a few were unable
to attend, but what about the others? Hopefully next
wednesday we'll reel the rest in. We had an excellent hike
as temperatures and humidity were down. This 1st
time out we took it a little slow but still managed to
do 5 (lots of hills) miles in a little less than 2
hours! Hope to see all of you each and every wednesday.
And great job to those of you who made it on the 1st
grueling 5 miler!
Please take a look at the new KCTrailblazers web
site.

<a

information!!
Well I moved and bellatlantic.net doesn't service WV so my e-mail had to change.
I'm going through yahoo now to simply things. So as no surprise, my new e-mail
is trlblazr_99@...
For your invite and advice(?) Please let me know if there are any upcoming hikes
taking place in Maryland. If so, any additional information will be welcomed.
Have you checked the Photos lately???? I just
connected my scanner and added some pictures. Also, another
member has added a few spectacular photos from
Switzerland. I encourage all members to post their hiking
photos too. I'll be adding more pictures myself as soon
as time permits so keep checking!
Sorry, it's not May 3rd, but the 10th unless you
all are planning to go without me. Unfortunately I
will be taking a Microbiology final on May 3rd. I
don't mind at all if you go without me though. You were
correct on the time however. Everyone needs to be there
so that we hit the trail AT 6:30p.m. I'll leave a
flyer on the windshield of my car in the parking lot
for any late arrivers that will list that day's route
so that they can join us on the trail.
Are we officially starting May 3 at 6:15? I'm
looking forward to it. Kelly, if you're reading this, I
say, let's do a route that's impossibly difficult to
start the season off with a bang! 'Cause ya know what
they say,CN
New information. I was able to reserve a group
campsite at Bolar Mountain/Lake Moomaw. We will be staying
at McClintic Point group area A. All parties
interested in attending this trip need only to show up and
DO NOT have to RSVP. The fee is $35.00 to be divided
by the total in attendance. Anyone who needs to
borrow a tent will need to e-mail me, as extra tents are
limited and on a 1st come basis. As always, e-mail me
with your questions. Teresa :)
Visit Douthat at www.state.va.us/~dcr/ and George
Washington NF at www.fs.fed.us/gwjnf once on the GWNF site
click on recreational info, then click on rec areas
opportunities, then recreational info, then recreational
overview, scroll in paragraph to hiking trails, click
there, then on Warm Springs District and finally, Bolar
Mountain rec area. Good luck! Just rememer the Warm
Springs area and then Bolar Mountain and you'll do fine.
The first trip will be here before you know it!
Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-28 2000. As the date
approaches I will need an estimate of people planning to
attend. Namely, how many campsites we will need.
Reservations are not required! But if you are attending and
arriving later afternoon on Sat(anytime after 1:00p.m.)
then we will NEED to know in order to save your camp
site. There is still plenty of time. I will not need
this information until mid-May or so. I just wanted to
get you thinking ahead. As always, e-mail me with any
questions. Teresa
