Thanks for your interest in coordinating education relief to K-12 students, educators, and families affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
This group was launched on Sept. 6, 2005 to share information that will enable us - as a community of government leaders, education organizations, corporations, and foundations - to better respond to the educational needs of those displaced.
A related initiative is vSKOOL. Launched Sept. 7 by Cable in the Classroom and the North American Council for Online Learning, the purpose of vSKOOL is to serve as a web-based clearinghouse of hurricane related offerings of education technology products and services to affected K-12 students, teachers, and families.
You may have noticed that email traffic on this listserv has completely died off. There is - in fact - a good reason for that (or, at least, a mostly good reason for that).
In an effort to expand the membership of this group, postings of news and information that would be of interest to those working to coordinate relief have been made somewhere else.
Specifically, postings are now made on a public blog at the vSKOOL website (www.vskool.org). The blog has been nominated for 2 different blogging awards and well over 100 posts have been made since it was launched - corresponding virtually 100% with when this group's listserv has died down.
So, for those with continuing interest (and if you have not already done so), please:
* visit www.vSKOOL.org;
* visit the vSKOOL blog at: http://www.vskool.org/www/vskoolblog.html; and,
* consider signing up for email updates at http://www.feedblitz.com/feedblitz.exe?Sub=3231 (powered by Feedblitz)
