Dear Ms James,
Graceland has in its archives the actual original paintings done by Loxi Sibley.  Colonel Parker purchased the rights to mass produce these images on posters and other memorabilia to be sold at concerts.  [that is true]  Along with the original artwork, Graceland has numerous copies of these posters and other prints done by Loxi Sibley. [that is probably true also]  However, to the best of my of my knowledge, these originals and prints have never been display inside the mansion.  [this is the one that I'm not really clear on, I've had numerous friends and family call, write and email me that they had been to Memphis and visited Graceland and took the tour, the last decade included,  and were all excited because they said they said the portrait I painted of Elvis hanging in Graceland.  As far as the prints go, Elvis had some of them that were framed and gave them to close friends, Kathy Westmoreland and Ginger Alden among them.  Jo Alden was with her daughter, Ginger, and Elvis and they were in the pool area at Graceland when Elvis reportedly called Ginger over to see this beautiful art work done by a young artist named Loxi Sibley [there words, not mine] and they told me that he loved my work. I know that this might not mean anything to anyone else but it means a lot to me.  I could understand it if one or even two people might have been mistaken, but to have so many people who did not know each other tell me over a period of the last twenty plus years,  that they saw one my paintings of Elvis with the mic hanging in Graceland, what would you believe? However, if it's not true and they all lied to me, well then, that would be one major coincidence? Remember, this all started in 1976.  I'm not sure what to make of all this but I don't want anything that isn't mine [meaning true] Maybe one was displayed in the trophy building during the first few years of operation from Elvis' collection but would have to research it.

Respectively yours,
Loxi Sibley
CC to my mail list.  And if you, my mail list friends, would pass it on maybe we, I, will learn more about what is going on, if anything.  Oh my gosh, I'm so confused!  Thank you, Hugs, Loxi.

I have been several times and I saw your painting SOMEWHERE, can't recall where, but it was displayed because my DH and I were talking about it.

 To All My Elvis Buddies,
Well, it has been a roller coaster ride for me the past several days.  I've written the paragraph below to those who responded with encouragement and those of you who are so special to me. Thank you
I am so happy to have received this from Sandi Pichon!  Below.
If anyone would know about my artwork in Graceland, Sandi would.
She sure put my mind at ease as did Patsy Anderson. Thank you for being there for me!
Hugs,
Loxi

Loxi is also a dear friend of mine and I can understand her concern. I did see the painting at Graceland a couple of years ago. I am going to go through all my photos and see if I can find a picture of it and where it was hanging. I seem to remember it being in the living room, but I could be wrong.
Sandi

Hey Susie,

The painting was on the wall in the main room of the trophy building.

Possibly archives has taken it for another purpose. I don't think it

could have been stolen unless it was taken by someone in house. Have

Loxi call Angie in archives and she should know what has happened with

the portrait. Sorry, I wish I could help more.

Love to ya,

Patsy

Hey GaryElvis, great to see you in Kathy's group. Love your name
suggestion for the chimp and I'll add it to the fast growing list.

Kathy would have loved to go to Branson but she had way too many other projects
going on to be able too.

Welcome Cindy, GaryElvis, Larry and all the other new
members that have recently joined the Kathy and Elvis
Yahoo Group.

Louisiana is one of my favorite places and my husband
and I try to make it to New Orleans at least once every
couple of yearS.

Believe it or not Kathy is having computer problems
again so if she ever makes it back, be sure and give
her a hard time about it.

She was having so much trouble with her other computer
that she couldn't stay online long enough to get
anything done.

Then DSL finally came into her neighborhood and she
figured her problems were finally over. NOT SO --
as her old computer couldn't handle it.

Last week she went out and bought a brand new "Dell"
(that's what I want) and a brand new printer. So what
happens -- as she's installing her new programs -- her
electricity goes out --- so needless to say, she now
new problems that need to be fixed.

Yes everyone is right on the mark by saying -- she's a
wonderful lady with a beautiful voice, but she's deadly
when it comes to computers.

In fact I told my husband the other night that Kathy
had a brand new Dell computer and his exact words were --- "she
hasn't had problems with it yet I hope" ------ I just
said uh, well, and -- he just shook his head and walked
away without even waiting for the answer.

Kathy's daughter Lindsey and I both tell her "never,
ever, under any circumstances, is she getting near our
computers" lol.

At least Kathy keeps her sense of humor about it. She
says Elvis had a graveyard full of "TVs", and she has
hers full of "computers".

Hi June,  Thanks for letting me know. Does your son or daughter live here in St. Louis?  I live about 5 minutes from the St. Louis Airpor.  I take highway 40 to the St. Louis Zoo. I so love animals any kind.

My daughter Debbie lives about 50 miles from Kansas City, where she met the love of her life. She lives on a 40 acre farm.  She loves it so much.  I do have three grandchildren, Brianna who is 23 lives here in St. Louis, and works at the SUNRISE extended care home  in Chesterfield Mo. for there loved ones. She loves taking care of the one who are in need, she sings to them. They love her.

My other two grandchildren live with there mom. They love it up there in Garden City, Missouri. They take care of the horses and board them also. My other grandchildren are Brittany who is 15 and Evan who is 11.  The years go by so fast. My daughter did get to see Elvis back in 1974 at the Howard Johnson's where Elvis stayed. Elvis fooled the fans. lol

God love Elvis and Kathy Westmoreland for their wonderful voices that lifted us all up.  Elvis loved Kathy's voice.

Thanks for writing me back, Take care and God Bless.

In fact, guess what she was doing when the earthquake
hit the other day -- backing up her computer. That
figures. She said all she could think about while she
was standing in the doorway and everything was shaking
was -- getting back to her "new" computer so she could
unplug it. Her and her computer stories are hilarious.

Our son lives in St. Charles Ramonda, so he's a little
farther from the zoo than you are, but a few miles
closer to Kansas City, making it closer for us, than if
he lived right in St. Louis.

We also have a daughter. She lives in Los Angeles with
the earthquakes, but we try not to think of them. She's
totally career minded though, and began as a model
there her first year and now is a "wardrobe stylist"
so works daily with top name celebrities. I love
listening to her.

In fact we went out to visit her a few weeks ago, then
my husband and I stopped in a small cafe for breakfast
on our way to the airport and there was only two other
people in the cafe ------ the waitresses weren't even

Hey, that is so great for you to meet Kirstie Alley, and have her signed her boarding pass. She seem so down to earth.  I'am so happy for your daughter doing wardrobe for the stars. My mom was a seamtress for 40 years. Of couse now she is 90 in a nursing home. She would sew thirty dresses a day, of course they were already cut out.

Your daughter has a given talent. There is an Elvis fan who worked for Peter Falk, for about 13 years, her name is April PItts. I met her back in 1972, my first trip to see Elvis in Memphis at Graceland.  Those were the memories, that is something us Elvis fans can always have. April got me Peter Falk autograph, Stacey Keach, and John Carpenter director of HALLOWEEN.

I sure miss the good old days, seeing Uncle Vester, Harold Lloyd, Fred Stohl, guards that were at the guard house. Uncle Vester, Vernon's brother, was a hoot. lol  I also have letters from Vernon and one letter from Elvis back in July of 1973. Elvis was home during the 7th, and 8th of July, that was a week-end. Elvis came out with Linda Thompson on his three wheel motorcycle. One time he came down in his Studtz, and he honked and scared the heck out of me, he just laughed. He loved to tease. My letter is under glass and soon will be 32 years old. my husband being a cabinet maker made a beautiful frame for it. I had sent Elvis photos taken here at the ST. LOUIS, Airport on Sept. 11th, 1970.  I will treasure this letter forever.

June, i just wanted to share a poem i made up called ELVIS SIX SENSES: Elvis also loved this also. Please I'm not bragging, just sharing.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for the compliment!  Apparently, the painting is safe and sound in the archive's for Graceland.  I think that the person who first started this was not well informed and the painting was never missing.
Hugs,
Loxi

I'm so glad that it was just a mistake and the picture wasn't taken after all. This is one of my favorite pictures of Elvis. Your an awesome artist.

I'm so happy to hear it's safe and sound Loxi. It's such a
wonderful painting, and is one of my favorites also.

Dear "Groop",

Thanks for the LAUGH! Ain't it "de truth?"

I am so proud of all of you. We have now been able to contribute to
Society of Singers, and care for the most adorable chimp I've ever seen!

I know it's hard to imagine how many people who have brought us
joy/happiness with their musical talents are in serious trouble today.
They spent their lives studying, developing their talents, then worked
long in the business.

Once "the right to work" states entered the picture, the unions became
weakened so badly, that everyone was left without their healthcare AND
pensions, etc. As we all know (or we wouldn't be here, right?)...
entertainers offer us "Food for our Souls".

Thank you for helping to take care of them!

Also, I CAN'T WAIT TO NAME OUR CHIMP!

Thank you all so much for a GREAT BEGINNING in helping to make the world a
better place! We've had a great
beginning, so now...."LET'S ROLL"!

Love to you all,
Kat

Thanks
Kat
