A group of us hold EPE authorized "Elvis meet-ups" in & around the San
Fernando Valley/Hollywood area. I would like to extend an open
invitation to all Elvis fans who would like to attend. They are free!
We especially welcome special guests who knew Elvis. The next meet-up
will be held on Saturday, July 29th @ 4:00 PM in North Hollywood, in
the form of a potluck Bar-b-que. Just bring something good to eat! Our
special guest at this one will be Gloria Pall, the million
dollar "legs" in Jailhouse Rock. Feel free to E-M Cheri at:
CHERIWOODS1@... or phone me at(818)225-5347 for the address. I
hope to meet many of you there!
Please note: I will be holding the next meet-up in August or Sept. at
my home which is kitty-corner from Lisa Marie's L.A. residence. I will
share my private "Elvis den" with my guests, which includes items
previously owed by Elvis, including his DNA! Would it be possible to
talk Kathy into attending as my special guest? Our group would be so
honored to have her there!

Hi Tony, I'd just like to respond to you and to others who've posted they have
lost loved ones to cancer in a short period of time, and don't believe Elvis
could have survived it for several years: Like you, I don't know if Elvis had
bone cancer or not. However, I have been witness to the life of someone who
survived a long time with several forms of cancer, including bone cancer, so I
know it happens. My father in law passed away May 17, 2006, at the age of 71. He
was diagnosed at the age of 63 with lung cancer in Oct. 1997. At that time, he
was told he had 6-9 months to live, and should "get his affairs in order". He
had five large tumors in his right lung, two on his adrenal gland, and some in
his lymph nodes at the time of the original diagnosis. He had small cell cancer,
the fastest growing type, so it was deemed inoperable, and he wasn't expected to
live more than six months. Over the next eight years, his cancer spread to both
lungs, his liver, more tumors in his adrenal gland and lymph nodes, his bones,
and finally, last December, we were told he had "lesions to numerous to count"
on his brain. He also developed diabetes, and a heart condition after enduring
more than eight years of cancer and numerous treatments of chemo therapy.
Despite all this, he remained alert, active, and physically mobile until the
brain cancer occurred last Dec. The radiation treatments used to shrink the
brain tumors is what caused him to start having seizures, then to totally lose
his mobility, his memory, his ability to function independently, and to
ultimately, pass away. Clayton's oncologist stated several times that she had no
medical explanation to justify his living so long with so many forms of cancer
spread throughout his body. Clayton not only lived - he never once complained.
We simply believe Clayton's life was in God's hands, and his life span was on
God's schedule. His love of his family, his strong belief in God and his basic
"will to live" seemed to keep him going despite the odds against him. My point
is that everyone is different in their ability to survive and function when they
are extremely ill, and in their levels of strength, determination and endurance.
Perhaps if Elvis did indeed have bone cancer, his love of people and life, his
deep religious beliefs and his basic desire to live helped him survive and
maintain longer than he "medically" should have. After all, we all know Elvis
accomplished many things throughout his life that people are still amazed by, so
it wouldn't surprise me at all if he did have cancer and continue to survive for
a long time. Take care, Judy --- In kathyandelvis@yahoogroups.com, "Tony

I am  very close with one of his best friends
and will go see him fri.

after I take my car to the shop,
I'll ride the bus
up to the shops from my room in the motel,
and ask him.

He is there on fri.
broadcasts from the shop,
so,
I'll see if he's there and can answer that,

I've heard him say, several times
HE HAD ONE CELL THAT COULD'VE BEEN, OR TURNED INTO

BUT HE DIDN'T THAT HE KNEW OF.
well,
no one really knows,
and if they do,
they aren't saying,
which I can't say I blame them,

most people when they die,
you know pretty much what it was,
but with Elvis some things are just plain not said
and I can understand,

wel,
maybe Vernon just dind't want it all told, I guess he figured
they'd just make it a huge tabloid talk,
which I'm sure he was right,
it wou'dve been,

wel,
I hope whatever it is, that made our man, leave this life
I hope it was quick, and easy and he had no pain,
in the last min.

wel,
if it was a heart attach as they said,

it was quick,
causxe that's why its critcal to get to them within 4 min.
and we all know that didn't occur
so,
he would've had brain damage
or been a veg.

had they got to him, and got him revived.

wel,
I know for a fact he wouldn't want that,
so, I guess
you can say,

GOD KNOWS ALL,
AND CONTROLS ALL,
SO, THAT'S WHY HE PICKED ELVIS' NUMBER
AND HE WENT,
ON THE 8/16/77
which if you add that and his b'day, together,
you get 2001

his introduction to coming on stage.

SORRY FOR THE DEATH OF YOUR FAMILY BUT NO DISRESPECT OK.? ELVIS DID NOT start to have this in the early 70s ad this up OK it took 8 years of your in laws passing but i do believe Elvis starting having this in `1973 if you look at his hair it was starting to bald and this was made known to everyone at the time of aging and Elvis often donated much money to the Danny tophis cancer society but why? as i do be live they treated him there as Elvis often went under the name john borrows come on think add this up and Elvis wanted to give his fans he loved so much one last hurra before he passed on and if you look at him in his final years you can see him crying when he said we see you again may god bless you adios he never started to say this and was added to everyone of his shows in after 1975 thers no dought in my mind at all that elvi did indeed know he was going to die .and that they did indeed hide some facts still to this day about his death

Hi,

I didn't know that was you,

I was told that one time, from one of Elvis' good friends
but as to if they'd say the same thing now,
don't know,
I'll try to ask them soon as i can,

well,
what groups are you in??

have you heard from Don??

I got his address
from someone,
glad I got it,
now I can write him more.

have a great day---

what kinds of things are you putting in your
jungle room???

is it your den??
well,
Are you trying to make it look like Elvis' jungle room,
or just one you can live with??
well,
nice to hear from you!!
tlc
cathi
how is your family?
how is your kids?
did your son do ok, in what he was doing?
well,
one of my friends
their oldest son got killed in a car wreck,

so,
they are really upset,
anyway,

then, one of my friends
her uncle was drunk, and got in his car
and hit a 18 wheeler
he's dead, but the other person in the 18 wheeler
isn't,

they had to get his face rebuilt to have the casket open,

oh well,
i'm sure glad I didn't go,
I didn't want to see that, I never met him,
so, I'm just glad they're back now.

Her daughter that is handicapped,
had a nervous breakdown
while they were in Missouri,
so, they put her in a hospital up there,
now, she's in Memphis, in one.

She will likely be there 6 months,
but if you ask me,
she needs to be there longer.

She's a ok girl, but she just gets hard to handle
sometimes
and I"m glad I don't have to do that, anymore,
she gave me some hard days,
but now, her mom does it, I only help
when her mom can be there too,

after her uncle died, i went over to see what i could do
to help,
so, she told me i could clean her room, that would help
the most,

so, i did,
and helped her get something out to wear
to the funeral, and the other days
they'd be gone,

so, I did that,
and I told her, i can't change this,
i can't bring him back,
but I can help you, so,
I did,

She said that was the most helpful, she could think of,
was to help her clean her room, so me and Heather
the one that is now in a mental hosp.
she didn't do to much,
I did most of it,
She wanted me to take her to the mall,
but I told her, you can't go to the mall when you're upset
like this,
you need to be near your mommy till you get back,
and then, after you get back,
we can go,
when you're not as upset,
I told her mom, no, way,
I"m not taking her to the mall, when she is crying so easy,

Someone will think I"m hurting her,
if i take her, and she is crying,

so, she agreed,
she told her, no, and told her after they got back
we could go, maybe,

but if we do, it'll be after she gets out of the hosp.

I'm sure Tammy will go to, if she goes,

Tammy and I are best friends
and I'm glad, heather is not easy to deal with,
I'm glad she is in a hosp. to get some help,

tlc
cathi
Its never easy on Tammy to put her in one,
but I told her, you can't keep doing this, honey,
you have to get some help, so, after she had that screaming
fit, in Mo.
the cops had to come and took her to a hosp,

She's glad they are helping her,
She likes it there pretty well,
and sometimes when she's not in the hosp,
wants to go visit ones she knows, but I never did do that,
unless her mom, Tammy told me it was ok.

Now, she's there and can visit with people all she wants to.

Hi All,
I feel that this  J. R. Meyers is getting too much attention which I'm sure is exactly what he wants.  Personally I had a bad feeling the first time I saw that he was to play the part of Elvis.  So much so that I never watched the movie and never will. Before the movie I had never heard of him.  I also believe that his accusations against Elvis are only a reflection of his own life.  He never knew Elvis.  Joe and Kathy did.  Along with a lot of other people who would like to have this guy eat his own words.  Which is probably what will happen.  Elvis was and is bigger than he will ever be.
Just my own opinion but I'll stand by it.
Hugs,
Loxi

However, I have been witness to the life of someone who survived a long time with several forms of cancer, including bone cancer, so I know it happens. My father in law passed away May 17, 2006, at the age of 71. He was diagnosed at the age of 63 with lung cancer in Oct. 1997. At that time, he was told he had 6-9 months to live, and should "get his affairs in order". He had five large tumors in his right lung, two on his adrenal gland, and some in his lymph nodes at the time of the original diagnosis. He had small cell cancer, the fastest growing type, so it was deemed inoperable, and he wasn't expected to live more than six months. Over the next eight years, his cancer spread to both lungs, his liver, more tumors in his adrenal gland and lymph nodes, his bones, and finally, last December, we were told he had "lesions to numerous to count" on his brain. He also developed diabetes, and a heart condition after enduring more than eight years of cancer and numerous treatments of chemo therapy. Despite all this, he remained alert, active, and physically mobile until the brain cancer occurred last Dec. The radiation treatments used to shrink the brain tumors is what caused him to start having seizures, then to totally lose his mobility, his memory, his ability to function independently, and to ultimately, pass away. Clayton's oncologist stated several times that she had no medical explanation to justify his living so long with so many forms of cancer spread throughout his body. Clayton not only lived - he never once complained. We simply believe Clayton's life was in God's hands, and his life span was on God's schedule. Hi All,
I feel that this  J.

Actually it's a well known fact that Elvis and Kathy were "much more than friends" for the entire seven years so yes she'd definitely side with Joe on the fact that there was no way Elvis was gay.

I wish I could ask Elvis himself.

Cause only he knows for sure,
and most of the ones that say they know
really don',t
or have written or said things I don't think is fair
after someone dies.

Why can'ty you bring that up, before,
and then, he could say, yes or no,
but I don't really care,
it doesn't matter
it won't bring him back to us,

so, why are we discussing this,
can we please find something else
more positive,

he had a few cells on his leg,
that may have TURNED TO CANCER
BUT HE DIDN'T HAVE CANCER.

i know his dr.

so, that's why i say it.

Hey Cathi! Yeah, I'm in Don's group, as well as, Charmaine's and Sue's.
I decided that I would join this one, as I love Kathy Westmoreland's
singing, and figured she would know more about Elvis than anyone. My den
is made up of Jungle themed stuff and Elvis collectibles. I just ordered
a big gold lame Elvs standup that talks, so after you get to the landing
of my den, he'll talk to you. I sent Don pictures of my den, so he has
an idea of what it looks like. I have lights going around my tapestry of
the Aloha from Hawaii Elvis, I have a guitar shaped clock, trading
cards, a scaled pink cadillac, Elvis ornaments, and books, and
magazines. After I get my standup, that should do it for my den, since
it's getting filled up. I also have a turntable with Elvis albums, so I
can hear his music. Just sent a letter to Don, so I hope to hear from
him.
I hope to make some new Elvis friends in this group, too. By the way
folks, I'm from Ohio. This is for Cherie, I seen you and your daughter
at Vernon's home, in 2002, when Bobby Memphis was there telling stories
about Elvis. My son was there, too, talking to Tiana. Have a great day
everyone! Theresa

Theresa~
How nice to hear from you again! Welcome to the group! I just joined
recently myself. What fun! I would like to go to Memphis next year
for the 30th anniversary. Will you & your son be going? Is anyone
else from the group going?

Cheri, I would love to go, but my son won't be going, because he leaves
for basic training July 12 for the Army. He will be in there for four
years as a calvary scout, taking training to become a law enforcement
officer. By the way, do you know Larry Geller? I read your post about
Larry being Elvis's hairdresser. I saw him in 2002 at Mary
Stonebreaker's home. Now, I get emails from him. Have a great day!

I have met Larry on a few occasions & have had one-on-one conversations with him.
I really enjoyed speaking with him, as I found him to be a very genuine, spiritual, forthright person. I felt he who truly loved & cared about Elvis as a person and not for what Elvis could do for him, like so many others in Elvis' life.

LOL. Yes everyone does it seems. Kathy fessed up to the whole affair
in her now out of print book. She also tells about during her great
30 minute interview on her latest "Tribute to Elvis" DVD at

this is what i have Ben saying all along as well even about those stupid body guards book and the drugs Elvis took this is blown way out of proportion and its the fans that do this and make his name what it is today not the etas as they are only giving there own remediation of what Elvis would of Ben like on stage giving the fans a visual this all reflects back on the fans as to the respect of the Elvis name

You'd have to grow up in the era of Elvis as we did, to know, appreciate, understand & love Elvis, the way we do.

Hi All,
I feel that this  J.
Hugs,
Loxi

Actually it's a well known fact that Elvis and Kathy were "much more than friends" for the entire seven years so yes she'd definitely side with Joe on the fact that there was no way Elvis was gay.

i do think your right Kathy would know if Elvis was gay or not as i am sure Elvis made a few passes to her lol. maybe more lol. i would also like to clear up the sleeping with his mother part . OK, true they did have one bed and were vary poor. but , the real reason why Elvis slept with his mother was to protect her as she was worried all the time and so she could also protect Elvis as he often was sleepwalking had nothing to do with any sexual innuendos about having sex with his mother at all and i will go further. Elvis was not predigests against blacks ether . Elvis had several friends that were black. where do you think he got the black sound from? the black people taught him .

I sure wish Kathy had access to a computer. I'll bet she'd have some interesting things to say. There is no way the things Jonathan Rhys Meyers said were ture. Believe me Kathy would know. lol
