The BMC - NGO Council Workshop on Dattak Vasti Yojana today at Dadar was amazing.
It was voluntarily attended by about 200 people -- mostly from DVYs.
8-9 people from CBOs running DVYs spoke for 5-10 minutes each.
They spoke freely and frankly without referring to any written or prepared notes.
They spoke about their experiences and their problems and gave good suggestions.
Everyone in the audience was requested to anonymously give their problems and suggestions in writing. Many did so.
BMC's seriousness was evident from the presence of M/s. Ratho, Markandeya, Beldar, Vasekar, Jagtap, and several Deputy H.S. and Smt. Redkar.
Several of the NGOs working in slums attended too.
