I don't think there is much to discuss prior to meeting Mr. Ratho, so we can all meet directly at the BMC Conference Room. You are, of course, most welcome to come at 3:30 at the Karmayog office - so that we can have some discussion. Vinay

Subject: [karmayog] Agenda for Jan 13 BMC - IITians - IIT Alumni Meeting
BMC - IIT / IIM Alumni meeting on Friday, 13 Jan
Agenda: How alumni of IIT and IIM can get involved with BMC
3:30 pm at the Karmayog office.
5:00 pm at BMC with Mr. Ratho, Addional Municipal Commissioner (City), BMC
(at the Conference Room in BMC Annexe Bldg, 3rd floor, opp CST, Fort)
Notes for IITians:
1. BMC provides a host of civic services to Mumbai. If you have an expertise in any of these and would like to get involved in the policy planning or implementation of these, please do attend the meeting.
2. If your interest is to be a vendor, then please email your company profile. We will revert to you thereafter. This meeting is not for you.
3. The meeting is for those who want to pay back their dues to society. So whether you are an IITian in India or abroad, if you would like to join the think-tank for any civic service, please email.
4. See the list of civic services in the BMC - NGO MOU which can be read at www.karmayog.org
Notes for IIM alumni:
1. BMC policies, procedures and processes usually do not suggest that a MBA or corporate planning approach has been used. Five year planning, citizen-friendliness, stakeholder awareness, monitoring and feedback mechanisms, operational manuals are missing concepts.
2. Since you have the theoretical and practical background and experience regarding such concepts, it would be extremely useful if you would lend your time and expertise for new policy planning and a review of existing procedures and systems.
3. If you wish to pay back your dues to society, please attend the meeting to get a better sense of how you can be involved. Do note that this meeting is not for CSR activities of your company.
BTW, non-IIT and non-IIM alumni who have an interest, please email me. Depending on the results of this meeting, we will have further more inclusive meetings. Sorry for the exclusion this time which is basically due to space constraints.
This is an initiative under the BMC-NGO MOU regarding involvement of civil society in policies, procedures, awareness creation, monitoring, feedback, etc.
RSVP: email back or phone Atul at Karmayog on 22000478.
