Employability Project

 

As part of its effort to support inclusion of Persons with Disability (PWDs) into mainstream Indian society, ActionAid International- India, Partners in Change and Sabala-The disability initiative of AAI-India jointly started the "Employability Project".

  

The mission of this project is "To ensure employability with dignity, equal opportunity and fair wages for persons with disability"

 

The project focuses on accessibility at the workplace in terms of attitudinal, physical and technological barriers.

The project also seeks to impact HR policies of corporates and aims at an inclusive, socially responsible HR policy.

Another important objective of the project is to build a Stakeholder Alliance involving PWDs, NGOs and Corporates for frequent exchange of ideas, sharing of information and working on different aspect of employability. 

 

Broadly we aim at:

An increase in sensitivity and awareness amongst the private sector with regard to employing PWDs

More companies adopting inclusive corporate HR policies

Increase in opportunities for PWDs to be employed at all levels in the private sector

Increase in the actual number of PWDs employed in the corporate sector
