Subject: Seminar on Infrastructure Growth – Bottlenecks & Solutions

We have organized a Seminar on Infrastructure Growth – Bottlenecks & Solutions
at the Indian Merchants’ Chamber, Churchgate, Mumbai on Saturday, 30th
September, 2006 between 3 pm and 6 pm. The Seminar has been sponsored by the
Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust.

Infrastructure is the main impediment in the economic growth of our country.
Maharashtra leads the rest of the country in infrastructure – both urban and
commercial. However, as on date 50% of India’s population is either teenagers or
younger. Hence we need to take up infrastructure creation on a war footing to
meet the projected growth targets for the economy and also to generate
employment opportunities. We are sure that infrastructure growth would itself
act as a force multiplier for the growth of the economy of Maharashtra as well
as our country.

The civil society is today represented by the NGOs. The Hon’ble High Courts and
the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has forged an unstated understanding with the
civil society that their efforts to restore sanity, transparency and
accountability would be taken up for consideration. Hence it is imperative that
we actively participate and awaken the sleeping citizens of India to assist in
this nation building process. We stand at a historic moment in time and need to
compete with the world on an equal footing.

For the Seminar we have invited the following dignitaries to address the
audience:
1. Hon’ble Mrs. Justice Roshan Dalvi, Judge, High Court of Judicature at Bombay
2. Hon’ble Mr. V. Ranganathan, Former Chief Secretary, Govt. of Maharashtra
3. Mr. Sanjay Ubale, Secretary (Special Projects), Govt. of Maharashtra
4. Dr. P. C. Sehgal, Managing Director, Mumbai Railway Vikas Corpn. Ltd.
5. Mr. Mufatraj Munot, Chairman, Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry
6. Mr. Vinay Somani, Trustee, Karmayog; Convener, NGO Council

We have no bar for persons wishing to attend the Seminar. We have invited the
media also..
Tea / coffee and snacks will be served at the Seminar.

We invite you to come to the Seminar and clarify your issues with the speakers.

With best wishes
