Re: Hawkers / Hawking Zones Matter in Supreme Court
We have completed two phases:
a) collection of relevant data / documents -- these have been uploaded in the hawkers section in www.karmayog.org -- we believe these cover the entirety of all reports relevant to the hawker situation in Mumbai and that these are sufficient and comprehensive and factor in all the different perspectives.
b) getting opinions and suggestions via emails and meetings -- all of these are in the Yahoo group and also uploaded in the Hawkers section. Please do read the Supreme Court judgement of 9th December 2003 and give your final suggestions.
We will now begin working on the recommendations to give to BMC on behalf of the NGO Council for including and taking into consideration in their affidavit to the Supreme Court.
We hope to circulate the first draft on Monday for discussion by all, leading to a final draft by the end of the week. We are not planning another meeting.
