VACANCIES IN SHELTER DON BOSCO
About the project: In line with Shelter Don Bosco’s aim of reaching out to
diverse groups of marginalized children and adolescents, and with the
realization that a greater number of children are being deprived of their right
to education, Project Akshar Dhara (one of Shelter Don Bosco’s branch) proposes
to work with children, their families and the communities at large. The current
proposal aims to build a sustainable, scientifically-based preventive system for
attracting and retaining disadvantaged children in formal and alternative
education programmes, as their influence on the child’s future is crucial.
Objectives: The project aims to:
1) Ensure the enrolment of 1500 vulnerable children between the ages of 5
and 14, in the formal educational system or in alternative education, by the
year 2007
2) Ensure the retention of these children in the formal educational system
by preventing dropouts.
