JUHU EKTA ALM formed on 18th Dec. 1999, today comprises twenty-eight Housing Complexes comprising 1,200 homes, as a citizen's co-operative movement, in the New D.N.Nagar area of Andheri (West), Mumbai – INDIA.
The main aims objectives of forming the JUHU EKTA ALM are :
· To promote health, sanitation, security and good fellowship in the area.
· To work with the Municipality and other public authorities providing utilities and services to the area, with a view to obtaining the best civic services, utilities and security for the area and improving its aesthetic appearance.
· To stand by each other in any emergency affecting the residents or commercial members and their families or establishments.
The immediate program formulated were:
· To beautify road frontage by planting ornamental plants and maintaining them.
· To promote sorting of all garbage at source and encourage vermi-composting.
· To enhance security in the area.
· To ensure clear and clean storm water drains
· To provide guidance to member societies and their residents.
The BRUHANMUMBAI MAHANAGARPALIKA (BM), has issued a License and Permit: KW/1216/AEM/OD (18/02/00) for beautification of pavements. This has been renewed. We maintain a Complaint Register to record citizen's complaints for which re-dressal is sought during the Monthly Ward Office ALM meeting on the third Saturday of each Month. The Nodal Officers Mr. Bagwe and Mr. Syeed sign our Complaints Register. Our Managing Committee has elections once in two years and have regular meetings on the third Sunday of every month.
