Zikr of Allah leads us to recognize Him and if we do zikr of the ahle baith then
we
recognize them. If we discuss sajdah then we remember Hussain. If we remember
charity
then we remember the charity of Fatima. When we do one zikr then we do the
other. Along
with zikr you should ponder also. The hadith says that one moment of thought is
equal to
1000 years of prayer.
The Quran says the entire universe is praying to Allah. Why do we not hear this
prayer? The
Quran says the universe is doing the tasbeeh of Allah. How can we hear their
tasbeeh. Man
has to ponder to get the answer. All the universe gives proof of the existance
of Allah.
I had a friend who said that he did not believe in Allah but believed in Imam
Hussain. One
day he praised Newton. He discovered gravity. He proved this to the world. I
said how did
he prove this. The reply was he saw the apple fall. He saw the apple fall and
pondered why
did it come to the earth? He then sought the answer and found gravity. I said
yes he was
great philospher who discovered gravity from a single apple. Where is your
inttelect you
ate thousands of apples but did not ponder on the Creator. you did not think who
made
the numerous characteristics of the apple.
There are a few people in the majalis but Allah looks at your intention and
gives reward.
Dear friends you should ponder along with doing zikr. Zikr means recognizing
Allah and
the ahle baith. When you recognize them then you recognize the religion. You can
then
present this to others. You are living in a 'superpower' it is your
responsibility to present
the religion to them. you cannot say that we cannot recognize Ali. They would
say that if
you do not recognize him yourself then why do you want us to accept him? Some
poets
say that even the angels do not recognize Ali. If they didn't recognize him then
why would
they rock his cradle, bring clothes for his children?
If Allah says that I made such arrangements to make Ali known that I had not
made such
arrangements for any other prophet. He was born in My house. I made arrangements
for
his upbringing with the prophet. His chilhood, his youth is in front of you.
The prophet
carried him, put him on his shoulder and raised him up. If you do not recognize
Ali this is
not his fault. The prophet said that if a person dies without recognizing the
imam of his
time dies the death of a non-believer.
We cannot recognize the height of accompalishments of Ali. This is as if you
have to
recognize a person you should be similarly qualified. Imam Ali is our Imam and
Allah
created him such. If we do not recognize him as Imam then this is wrong. The
prophet
says remember Ali go to Ali this is prayer. Going to Ali and seeing him makes
you
remember Allah.
When the slave of Allah is such then what of Allah. If Ali forgives the sinners
then what of
his Creator. Recognize Ali and recognize Allah. We cannot claim ignorance of who
Ali is.
The time when people would be made fearful and forced into believing is gone.
The shia
after the revolution of Iran and the incidents of Lebanon all know who the shia
are. People
are asking who are these shia. The world wants to know. We should tell them who
we are.
We should gather knowledge, we should make our character such that people
recognize
us.
I went to a party once. There were many of other religion. There were also some
who were
not shia. People have made the religion of the prophet infamous. They have long
beards,
and strange dresses. When this man left I asked my friend to give me his photo
so that I
may scare the kids . This way of dressing is not the way of the prophet. Someone
asked
me oh tell me the reason for the shia religion. I did not answer. They asked me
again. I
ignored him again. An elder asked me to explain why we have shia religion. I
said that the
first belief of the shia is that the Creator of the universe is Allah and none
other. He is the
Creator, the Owner, the Sustainer. He controls the universe not any other. They
said we
belive this also. Do you want a reason they said no.
The other belief is the day of judgment and the good deeds give us heaven and
the bad
hell. They did not want any reason for this either. They said this is our
belief.
We believe that Allah sent a lot of messengers to guide men and the prophet
Mohammed
is the last prophet. They said that we believe the same thing.
The Quran is the last book. They agreed on this also.
I said the first thing the best action is salaat. There are 5 salaat not 5
different times of
salaat. There are only 3 times but 5 salaat. I described the salaat to them.
They said that
this is their belief also.
They did not want a reason for any of these things.
Then I said the next thing we do is fasting. They said that we do the same
thing.
Then I described zakaat to them. They agreed that they have the same belief.
Then I described Hajj to them in detail. They said their belief is the same.
When a child is born we say azan in one year and ekhama in the other. When a
person dies
this is how we bury him. This is how we marry. This is how we distribute the
inheritance of
a person. They said that this is their belief also. Then we described the manner
of divorce.
They said that this is our belief also. They did not want any reason. Then they
asked what
is the difference between my belief and yours. I said that there is one
difference. You say
that after the death of prophet Mohammed the muslims were on the right path. We
say
that after the death of the prophet the history of muslims took a wrong turn.
After the
death of the prophet there is no peace to the muslims. We say that the history
of muslims
is on the wrong path. He agreed with this also. I said that we openly state when
and where
the ummat left the path of the prophet. You say the path starts from Saqifa and
we say
that it starts from Ghadeer. Had the muslims taken the path of Ghadeer instead
of Saqifa
then the world would be quite different.
In karbala there was caliphate on the one side and imamat on the other. Imam
Hussain did
not come to karbala to destroy yazid but to destroy the system. Imam Hussain
went to
karbala why to remove yazid? There were 1000s of yazid and many came after him
Marwaan, etc. Some say that Imam Hussain simply did not want to do allegiance to
Yazid.
No he went to karbala to destroy the system. In one day Imam Hussain removed not
Yazid
but removed the entire system of caliphate with the caliph into the abyss so
that he has
not been able to come out of this abyss so far. Till the day of ashoor muslims
thought that
the command of the caliph is the command of the prophet. The caliph was the
owner of
the world and the hereafter. After karbala none went to the caliph to ask how to
do salaat.
Hussain destroyed caliphate forever. Imamat is still going on. The promise of
Allah never
goes wrong. He said do salaat and this happens to you. Give zakaat and you will
be repaid
in 10 fold.
There is one promise left that the religion of Allah sent via the prophet of
Islam will
overcome the rest of the religions.
