I beseech you to do fatiha for Mohammed Raza
Dear friends in Islam yesterday we had discussed about infallible and guidance.
Today on
request from the organizers I would like to discuss Mukhtar. I recited to you an
ayat of the
Quran. This is connected to this event. You have heard this ayat in the sad part
of the
majalis.
The ayat says that soon the oppressors will see which way they will be turned.
Oppressors
will end soon and so will their oppression. They will be turned on their faces
and their
oppression will soon end. This is what Allah says in the Quran.
We do not have proper words and we often are afraid. We have a limited power and
strength would fear this. Allah has no fear as none can flee Him and none can
escape Him
as He is for ever.
Karbala was the place where oppression was at its perfection. In one day
oppression had
overcome paticence. The limits of oppression were surpassed in Karbala. There
were some
who said that someone will revenge Hussain. We worried that will the ones who
trampled
the body of Hussain be avenged.
From Bani Saqeef tribe there was a brave man Mukhtar. Please follow carefully.
This
Mukhtar was from the tribe of Sakheef. This was an honored tribe. He was born at
the
date of the battle of tabookh. His mother is Hawiya. When Mukhtar was in his
mother's
womb she heard a voice that told her that in your womb is a child who is the
avenger of
Hussain. You should take care of him carefully.
Who gave Mukhtar the right to avenge Hussain? Isn't our 12th Imam the rightful
avenger
of Hussain's blood? There are some amongst us who are unhappy at Mukhtar as our
4rth
Imam did not permit him. This is incorrect. I take full responsibility for the
speech to
follow with historical background. I have read at least 125 books on this
history. It takes
at least 10 majalis.
There is book by Qazi Noorullah syed e salis he writes that Mukhtar did a
honorable deed.
Some think that he is not a true shia.
Allama Majlisi in Jalaal ul Uloom said on one day Imam Mohammed Baqir (AS) met
the
crying son of Mukhtar. Mukhtar's son replied that people call my son a murderer.
The 5th
Imam cried and hugged the boy and said that the curse of Allah be on those who
called
your father a murderer he is my saviour.
Mukhtar was playing with children. Moula Ali was passing by with Meesam e
tammar. He
picked up a really dirty boy and cleaned him and kissed him and called him oh
clever boy.
Now the shia should remember this was Mukhtar and Ali called him oh clever boy.
When
he put him down there were tears in Ali's eyes. Meesam asked him why do you do
so. Ali
said this is the boy who will kill the enemies of Hussain and give peace to the
heart of
Fatima. Meesam was awe struck. Ali said in the prison you will meet him and then
give the
salaam of Ali to Mukhtar when you meet him.
Mukhtar had two sisters. His older sister was married to the oppressor Omar Ibne
Saad.
Saad was the one who conquered Iran and Omar was his son.
The younger sister was married to Abdullah Ibne Omar the son of the Caliph. Due
to these
connections some suspect Mukhtar. Allah has His own program. He knows who should
go
where and who should serve Him. These two sisters were married to these two
people as
described above.
Mohammed E Hanafiya was not the Imam of Mukhtar. In karbala the Imamat was being
buried by Yazid. Mohammed E Hanafiya felt the need for the Imamat of Zain Ul
Abedeen to
be declared. Imam Ali was declared Imam in kaaba as was the Imamat of Zain Ul
Abedeen.
Both their wives were named Fatima. Fatima was the daughter of Hasan. The son of
Hussain and the daughter of Hasan were married and their son was Mohammed. From
there Ali son of Mohammed son of Ali till the last Imam.
Mukhtar did not accept Mohammed E Hanafiya Imam. Mohammed E Hanafiya did say
that
he was Imam. He felt that the 4th Imam was not commonly known as Imam. Thus he
claimed that he is the Imam. The 4th Imam said that he was the Imam. The common
people thought they were fighting. This was actually politics to make the Imamat
well
known.
They then said that they should go to the kaaba to Hajr e Aswad. Imam Zainul
Abedeen
said lets go to the hajr e aswad. Mohammed E Hanafiya said that lets wait till
Hajj so that
we have a lot of witnesses. Lots of people came as they had heard the stone is
going to
speak. Mohammed E Hanfiya spoke to the stone and it did not reply. This is proof
that
Mohammed E Hanafiya wanted to prove who the rightful Imam is otherwise he would
never
come here. Imam Zainul Abedeen approached the stone and the stone spoke that oh
son
of Ali my salaam on you and you are the Imam son of Imam son of Imam. This is
why Allah
wants us to kiss this stone. It spoke the truth on one day and till the day of
judgment we
kiss it.
The hajr e aswad was in heaven. Adam sat on it to pray to Allah. When Adam was
sent to
earth the stone started to cry. It told gibraeel that my friend left and I miss
the prophet
thus I am crying. The stone cried when Adam left. As long as Adam was next to it
the
stone did not cry. As the prophet left it cried. The stone knew that if the
prophet is next to
you then do not cry. The one who cries next to the prophet then this person is
inferior to a
stone how can he then be compared to Haider?
The stone cried and Allah made it a part of the kaaba.
Two sons of Ali Mohammed E hanafiya and Abbas are well known to be brave. Abbas
was
born after Imam Ali had looked for and found a brave mother. If both the mother
and
father are brave then the son is Abbas if only the father then Mohammed E
Hanafiya.
One of the students of Mohammed E Hanafiya is Mukhtar and the other Ibraheem the
son
of Malik E Ashtar. Imam Ali then said that each of them should be taught
swordsmanship
and spear. Mukhtar got a Quran and Ibraheem got the sword called saif E Ali and
this is
now in a museum in India.
Mukhtar saw the time of Ali, Hasan, Hussain and Zainul Abedeen. He was a lover
of the
Ahle baith. His blood was actually the love of ahle baith.
Allama Majlisi said that be proud of the deeds of Mukhtar and he provided peace
to the
heart of Fatima.
We are called the shia the 12ver shia. We were created as Allah will create a
community to
cry on the family of Fatima. We were created to cry for the family of Fatima.
If Mukhtar
had not killed the murderers of Imam Hussain we would never have had any happy
days in
our life. Our 4th Imam kept crying from one moharram to the next. He kept this
up until
the 9th rabiul awwal. On this day the head of one of the murdrers as gift to
Imam Zainul
Abedeen and he was happy and on this occasion we celebrated the day of Eid E
Zehra. The
one who opened the doors of happiness for the shia is Mukhtar.
Some ask who gave Mukhtar permission to avenge Hussain? The 4th Imam did not
give
open permission. How did the Imam give permission? If the 4th Imam was unhappy
then
he would not smile on getting the head of Omar Ibne Saad.
If Mukhtar not helped materially then the ahle baith's starvation ended, the
widows got
married and their houses were repaired with his money.
When Mukhtar ruled in kufa a poet Minhaal came. He said he is coming from Kufa.
He said
that Mukhtar is killing the oppressors of Karbala. Was Hurmula caught asked the
4th
Imam. The 4th Imam said tell Mukhtar salaam and ask him to work harder at
catching
Hurmula.
What is qawl and hadith? That which the infallible say or do then this is qawl.
If there is
something being done and the Imam didn't say something then this is Qawl.
Mamoon E Rashid was doing wudu and a man was pouring water for him the Imam said
that you should pour your own water when you do wudu. The Imam's stopped anyone
who
did wrong.
If Mukhtar was doing the wrong thing then show me one qawl of the Imam that
stopped
him.
If Mukhtar was such a big shia why was he not in karbala? Muslim Aqeel reached
Kufa. The
first person who swore allegiance was Mukhtar. Muslim was a guest in Mukhtar's
house.
Abdullah Ibne Mati was the governer. Muslim told Mukhtar that we need some
strength as
Imam is coming. Mukhtar took permission from Muslim and went to bring 150
soldiers.
Obaidullah Ibne Ziad was the governer of Mosul. Yazid sent him a letter and said
you go to
kufa and become governer and crush the supporters of Hussain. Obaidullah did as
ordered. All those who swore allegiance on Muslim they rebelled. When Muslim led
the
prayer and turned around all had left. Then Muslim was caught and murdered by
Obaidullah. Mukhtar went toward Kufa with 150 soldiers. He met a stranger and
this man
told him that Muslim was killed and his body was being dragged around the
streets of
kufa. Mukhtar cried and then told his soldiers that our purpose is finished. I
was taking
you to kufa to obey Muslim and he is no more. He disbanded the army. Omar ibne
Haris a
vizer of Obaidullah was at the door of Kufa. Omar Ibne Haris had a white flag
out and this
was a sign of peace. Mukhtar came under this flag of peace. He was a known VIP
of Arabs.
Ibne Ziad will not accept this said Mukhtar. Mukhtar was taken to Ibne Ziad's
court. Haris
said that he came under the flag of peace and give him gifts. As this happened
100
women were seen crying. They came to Ibne Ziad and said that 200 men were coming
to
meet you and Mukhtar killed these men. Ibne Ziad got angry and he had a stick in
his hand
and he hit Mukhtar on his forehead. Mukhtar was imprisoned in Kufa in a prison
and this
was while karbala was going on.
The prison of kufa was in the shape of the letter s. You could not tell the
difference
between night and day. He met Meesam e Tammar in this prison. Meesam said
congratulations on the fact that you will kill Obaidullah. Who told you this
asked Mukhtar.
Mukhtar was said that Moula Ali said this. Mukhtar said that if Ali said so then
it will come
to pass.
Mukhtar was taken out on 11th Moharram on the day when Zainab was brought
imprisoned. Ibne Ziad wanted to show Mukhtar what he had done with the ahle
baith.
When Mukhtar was brought out in bright light he could not see clearly. Ibne Ziad
say do
you see the daughter's of Ali as prisioners in front of you. Mukhtar said he
could not see
clearly and he said you lie Ibne Ziad. Zainab said my brother was killed in
Karbala.
Mukhtar broke his chains and took a sword and then lept on Ibne Ziad. As he was
about to
kill Ibne Ziad the 4th Imam said let my fathers legacy come true. Mukhtar
stopped and
dropped his sword.
Mukhtar was put back in prison. He was given 3 breads in the am and pm. Ibne
Ziad
stopped his food and gave him but two bread daily. The arabs have an oil to rub
the camel
on its back to make the saddle more bearable. This oil and bread was given to
Mukhtar for
food.
He cried all the time that he saw Zainab a prisioner.
The caravan of ahle bait went from kufa to shaam. Then they were freed after
arbaeen.
In 62 AH in rabi ul awwal in Kufa there was Kathir. He was a hafiz of the Quran.
He was in
hiding. He hid the fact that he was a shia of Ali. Kathir Ibne Amir E Hamadani
was his
name. He was thirsty and he asked for water. He once forgot that he was in the
school and
he cursed the killers of Hussain. Salaan's son was in the school. Salaan was the
one who
killed Ali Akbar. His son went to his father and said that you were cursed in
school. Ibne
Ziad called the teacher to his court. The teacher was sent to the same prison as
Mukhtar.
They met each other and lived together for a few days. The teacher cried a lot.
Mukhtar
said that if you love Ali then your life in this world will be full of hardship.
The teacher's
older daughter was the friend of Obaidullah. She asked her freiend to speak to
Ibne Ziad.
And then Ibne Ziad ordered that the teacher be freed. Mukhtar asked for a pen
and paper
from the teacher. The teacher was freed. He then rememberd the life of Mukhtar
in prision
and plotted on how to send the paper and pen to Mukhtar. He studied the jail
warden's
habits. He knew when the warden would not be home and at that time the teacher
took
special food to the wardens house as a gift as he was freed from prison. The
wardens wife
saw the good food and kept it for the warden. The next day the teacher again did
the
same thing. Then on the third day. On the fourth day when the teacher took food
the
warden was waiting for him. He called the teacher inside. He asked him what do
you need.
The teacher said no really I am giving you a gift. The warden said that your
forehead is
saying that you are a lover of Hussain. The warden said that if I have a chance
I will serve
Hussain. The teacher said that I am trying to give this paper to Mukhtar. The
warden said
put the paper and pen in the food and tell Ibne Ziad that you want to feed the
prisoners.
They plotted this but Obaidullah found out about this plan. He did not have a
child. His
wife had picked up a son in the desert and brought him up. This son gave Ibne
Ziad the
news. You know who these abandoned child is. Such people never have the love of
Ali in
their hearts.
Ibne Ziad knew of the entire plan. As the food was sent to the prison Ibne Ziad
came to
check the food himself. The pen and paper was not to be found. Ibne Ziad then
ordered
the person who gave him the news to be beheaded.
Mukhtar killed 325,000 enemies of the ahle baith with his own hands. People
would close
the doors of their houses when they heard the name Mukhtar. The Emir of Shaam
wrote
Imam Ali's name on paper and make people hit it with a slipper. In these
circumstances
Mukhtar killed the enemies of Hussain.
On the day of judgment the Imam of the time will take revenge. The real revenge
will be
taken by the Imam. Mukhtar just gave us a prelude to look at as an example.
The teacher of Kufa sent the food and it was checked. The lamp the paper and
ink was
sent to Mukhtar thus. In India there are two types of roti. One type of bread
can be torn in
two down the middle as it has air in between. The one who sent the pen and paper
to
Mukhtar put the pen and paper in the two pieces of bread and sent it to him. The
pen and
paper were in the two layers of bread and not found when they were checked.
In gujrat if one is called be ghar then this is not homeless but one with two
houses.
Meesam sold dates or tamr then he is called Meesam E Tammar.
The food was given to Mukhtar and his hands were untied. If you see a cucumber
the pen
was inside the cucumber. Paper was in the bread. The ink in walnuts. He wrote a
letter to
the son of the second caliph his brother in law. He said that Obaidullah has me
imprisoned and you should write to Yazid that I be freed. How will this letter
get to
Medina.
The teacher of Kufa took the letter and went out. He went to the court of
Obaidullah and
asked another favor. He wanted to go do Umrah and was given permission. He went
to
really deliver the letter and he galloped to Medina. He went to the house of
Abdullah Ibe
Omar in the late hours of the night. He knocked the door and Safia the sister of
Mukhtar
opened the door. She took the letter and woke her husband up and then asked him
to
write the letter right away. Now you know why Allah made this marriage. Safia
wept so
much that she died say some, some say that she tore her hair out.
Her husband wrote a letter to Yazid and said you should send a letter to Kufa
right away if
you do not do so then I am the son of the second caliph and I will start a
revolt. The
teacher of Kufa took the letter to Shaam. He went into the court of Yazid and
the soldier
threw him out. At the door of Yazid's court there was a person selling
vegetables. he
asked the mosque to pray for him. The vegetable seller stopped him once and why
do you
come for the last 17 days and why do you do this. I see the ring in your finger
that you are
a shia. I am also a shia of Ali. Your aqeeq rings makes it apparent. You should
have such
a face that all should recognize that you are a shia.
The vegetable seller called the teacher to his house the next day. He then asked
the
teacher to dress like a person from sham. He told him how to walk when he goes
to the
court of Yazid. If you walk proudly then they will let you in. Do not say salaam
as this is a
bad thing in Yazid's court. Keep walking past the second door. Then at the third
door
there will be chess players walk past them. At the next doors there were the
people of the
saucer. The chess players are the people who hurt Imam Hussain in Karbala. They
were
given alcohol free and given permission to play chess. Allama Majlisi says in
Bihar E Anwar
that the shia of Ali should not even look at a chess player let alone play
chess. The 7th
Imam said that this chess hurts the ahle baith. Yazid placed a chess board on
the head of
Hussain and played chess. Curse Yazid if you see someone play chess.
Who are the people of the saucer. Saucer or tray or the tray of gold on which
the head of
Hussain was. Those who presented the head to Yazid on a gold tray. The grandson
of
Mohammed's head given to the grandson of
The fifth door will have a turkish slave in a dark dress. Meet him he is a shia
of ali. What
was a shia of Ali doing in the court of Yazid in a black dress?
The teacher said that he saw the players of chess and they looked like pigs. At
the fifth
door the turkish slave called him by his name. The teacher said how do you know
my
name. The turkish slave said my imam told me in my dream 18 days back. The
turkish
slave took the letter and told the teacher to wait with him.
The teacher of kufa said that there is a lot of perfume being started. The
forehead of Yazid
has a wound that has a stench and to make this less this perfume is being used.
When
Yazid comes I will push you forward. Yazid came and the turkish slave stopped
him. He
reminded him that Yazid you have to fulfil my desire answer this letter. Yazid
read the
letter and said I cannot do this. The turkish slave said that you promised me
that you will
fulfill one desire daily. The slave said that this teacher will take the letter
with him. Yazid
wrote a letter to Obaidullah. He ordered him to free Mukhtar with honor. He said
if you do
anything against what I have written then this teacher will be my witness. Then
the teacher
was given money to take and use for the journey. As soon as the teacher left the
court he
threw away the najis money.
The teacher then entered kufa with a mask on his face. Then he went to Ibne Ziad
and gave
him the letter. He said this is the letter from your uncle. He called Mukhtar
out right away
and he was sent away with honor. Mukhtar rejected the rewards. Then he took his
hand to
Ibne Ziad and asked him to swear allegiance. Mukhtar said that you cannot kill
me as my
Moula has said that I will kill you. Oh Ibne ziad if my Ali said so then it will
be so and
nothing can stop it.
Mukhtar was free. He made an army of shia. The son of Malik E Ashtar and other
shia.
There were 150 shias in prison and they were freed. Mukhtar then did a meeting
discussing the revenge. Yazid was sent to hell. On 14th rabiul awwal 64 AH yazid
went to
hell. We will discuss this tomorrow.
You must have heard of Talha and Zubair. The prophet had made them brothers of
each
other. Zubair was called the sword of Islam. Zubair was a relative of the
prophet. Ayesha's
older sister was married to Zubair. Imam Ali told Zubair to tell his aunt to go
back or Ali
would use the right given by the prophet.
All these people were governers. Yazid had kept the name of his son Mauwiya.
Mauwiya
was killed in a short time. He refused to be caliph. He said that this should go
to Imam
Zain Ul Abedeen. This honest man was the son of Yazid.
Mukhtar went to the 4th Imam to get permission to leave. When Mukhtar became the
ruler
of Kufa. There was a big battle where 70,000 men were killed. The son of Malik E
Ashtar
fought bravely, Mukhtar got the list of the murders of Karbala. Where did he get
the list.
Abu Khalik E Arashi a poet noted down what did each person do in karbala. How
would we
know otherwise.
Omar Ibne Maud killed Ali AKbar
Hakkam Ibne
Shanas
Shimr
Hurmula
Issac
Mohammed Ibne Ashas
The poet was caught and made to confess.
One oppressor was caught. Mukhtar became the ruler of Kufa. Quli Bine Yazid E
Asbai was
the man who carried the head of Hussain. How was he caught. He had two wives.
This is
not a sin. But this is not my advice to you. Quli had two wives. Ibraheem was
told that Quli
was hidden in a house. They surrounded his house with 500 men. Adbullah made
them
open the door. The two wives came forward and said that they want to search the
house.
One wife said that he went to his in-laws. Abdullah said say the truth or I will
burn the
house down. She said Quli went to his in-laws. Then he asked the other wife. She
was a
lover of the ahle baith. She said that what does a woman know where Quli is.
Abdullah
understood. Then he told the soldiers to search. Then Abdullah took the spear
and asked
the woman again. She said i do not know where Quli is. She kept showing one
place. Then
Abdullah went to search. He saw a toilet. Now you know why they call this a
restroom in
USA. This was a laterine or an open hole in the ground. Abdullah went out and
asked how
many family members 6 and the laterine is cleaned in 15 days. Why then is the
laterine so
full. The man was hiding in the feces. Abdullah threw his big spear in the feces
and Quli
was impaled on the spear and taken out. He was dragged covered in feces so that
all can
see what happens to the enemies of Hussain in this world. People were now afraid
to say
bad things about the ahle baith. Quli was taken in the same state to the court
of Mukhtar.
He was then crucified while covered in feces and kept in the sun for many weeks.
His body
was cut and red peppers put in it. Then he was cut into pieces and burnt and his
ashes
were scattered by Mukhtar.
All the sad things of Karbala that came to us came from the court of Mukhtar.
Quli was
asked in the court of Mukhtar what did you do in karbala? Quli said that I did
many things.
Was there any thing that made you cry? Mukhtar said that I will not forgive you.
Quli said
that my heart wept at one thing I did. I took the head of Hussain on spear. When
Hussain
was swaying on the horse I took a spear. I can throw a spear through 7 sheets of
iron. Quli
said that when Hussain was swaying but not falling from the horse Omar E Saad
commnded me to make him fall. I threw my spear at Hussain so that it hit him in
the heart
and he fell to the floor. Mukhtar fell and swooned. Quli said I did a thing that
made me
sad. When Hussain's head was cut and people were looting I went toward the tent
to loot
myself. I saw a little girl my master Mukhtar. I saw a little girl Sakina. Quli
said I saw a little
girl with her dress on fire. I saw two gold earings. I wanted them for my
daughter. I
chased her with my horse. She was crying for her grandfather Ali from Najaf. My
clothes
are on fire oh grandfather. Quli said the girl was crying. If I wanted I could
have asked her
for it. I poked the girl with my spear and made her fall in the desert sand and
I pulled off
the earings with force and the girl was looking at the river furaat and said
sakina is now
orphaned my uncle abbas
May Allah curse the oppressors.
