Hello. I am needing to store my beads and was thinking of my attic. However,
it gets very hot up there. I have a wide variety of beads. Ceramic, plastic,
glass, crystals, fresh water pearls, etc. How well will they hold up in the
heat of an attic in the summer? It can get over 100+ degrees in there. Will
they melt or warp?

Thanks

Hi, I'm new to the list and want to say hello and ask a question. I've been
beading for about 6 months and have quickly become an addict! There is an
Intergalactic Bead Show coming up in Harrisburg PA next weekend. Has anyone been
to one, or have any feedback for me?
Thanks so much. Maggie

Hey yall. My name's Lynn. I just joined and I recently got into jewelry making.
I've discovered that I'm actually pretty good at it and I've really been
enjoying it. I bought me a beginner thing a ma jig and I noticed that it only
came with a couple of designs of stuff to make. I'd really love to make a
butterfly out of the wire for a necklace, but I can't find a pattern on the net.
Would anyone here have any of their own designs that they would be willing to
share or be able to tell me a site where I can see a pattern?

Thank you so much!
Happy crafting!

Hello Everyone

So I have this idea to link my jewelry sales with a cause. Since I'm a
mom I'll be doing this with an organization that helps infants and
moms.

But before I approach the organization I have in mind I want to ask
for some advice and suggestions.

(1) Whats the best way to contact them and present my ideas?
(2) How to promote the jewelry that supports their causes?
(3) Once the sales are made how to handle the donations? Should I make
it monthly? Weekly?

Thanks for taking the time to give me some pointers or direct me to a
place/person who can help me.

Right now is the best time to market jewelry. The home made, small shop, Little
guys should do the best. If you want a name brand type plan, visit Mary Kay.
For a jewelry firm that should do well now stop by a Kay's Jewelers. What we
have now is a credit freeze. That is the same as a cashless society. The South
survived the post civil war under that system. What all firms need to do is
advertise. You have Yahoo groups that are advertising sites, free. All are
good. Join other yahoo groups. Advertise on your church's bulletin board. I
publish, and write People Port. I am working on just such an article. When I
publish it, If you would like, I will post a notice here.

Hi, my name is Mary and I have been learning to make jewelry for a couple of
years. It has become a passion and love everything about it. I also love other
crafts such as card making and anything to do with paper. This jewelry passion
has taken over my house. I am in the process of organizing a craft room so I
can have everything handy. I really like the picture of the Jewelry work bench
shown on group opening page.

Sincerely,

Hi everyone.
I am new to the group, but wanted to take a moment to say hi. I have
been interested in making jewelry for a long time. I usually make
seed bead earrings, but now I want to expand and make necklaces out of
gem stones or glass beads to sell. Hope to learn a lot here and share
what I know.

If you have some time to check it out here is the link.

I want to start working with sheet copper and had the idea to stamp
images onto the finished pieces. However, all of the stamps I have seen
online are well over $100 a stamp.

Am I looking in the right area? There is no way I could afford stamps
right now as I am not selling enough to justify the expense.

Yikes!

Hi
I am very new to this group and do alot of decorative painting and
clay work and have made some jewelry for my daughter to wear when she
was a teen. However, my sons fiance wants two necklaces made for her
matron and maid of honor to mimic the antique necklace she is wearing.

The one she wants has five briolette ( Sm pink ) on a "snake" chain.
I am at a loss as to how I attach these to the chain, I guess you
would have to see the picture of what I am doing in order to help me
with any advice. Is there anyone out there willing to advise me?
thanks so much it means alot. Please email me privately at trujewels
at yahoo dot com or thefirstmommyqueen at yahoo dot com.

Again your help is so much appreciated. I am not trying to get out of
paying someone to make the jewelry. I want to make it .to make it more
special. I hope you understand. thanks again.

Hi!

My name is Lydia and I am new to the group.

I started making jewelry this summer and I'm really enjoying making
new creations. I have worked with polymer clay, beads, wire, sequin,
ribbon and any other medium I can think of.

Really looking forward to learning and sharing ideas with other fellow
artisans/crafters.

Thank you for letting me into your group.

Hi Diana,
I have my domain registered with directnic.com and have been pleased with
them in that regard for years. $15/year is all it costs. I used to have my
website hosted by your-site.com and was perfectly satisfied with them, but
when I switched my domain name a couple years ago I also switched to having
it hosted by directnic. I have not been pleased with them in that regard
and I regret that decision. Not miserable, mind you, I just had fewer
issues with your-site. Direcnic's hosting was a few bucks (and I mean only
a few) cheaper for the year (your-site was only $60 for the year, by the
way) and I thought it made it simpler to have just one company. Well, now
although I don't want to change my domain again I do want to change the host
back to your-site, but in case there are any transfer delay or whatever
issues I'm trying to decide the right time to do it. Anyway, my suggestion
is directnic for registering and your-site (don't forget the dash, without
the dash it's a different company) for hosting. All that being said, I
don't know what level of do-it-yourself you're looking for. If you're
looking for a place where the site is basically created for you, perhaps
this isn't the right suggestion. I write my own html code for my site,
though if you're willing to use Frontpage or one of those things, then it
would work just as well, it's just that I don't think they do the whole
template thing. I could be wrong, of course, since I was never in the
market for that sort of setup. I don't have a shopping cart on my site
since most things are either one-of-a-kind or custom orders, though I think
they do have options for a cart if you want one.
