Founded in August 2000 at the International Youth Forum Against Racism in Hanover, Germany, this Network is an open structure for all youth around the world committed to fighting racism.

Currently, the aims of the International Youth Network Against Racism are to:
· Act as a means of encouraging support towards anti-racism youth initiatives from organisations and individuals, particularly youth, worldwide.
· Provide a means for resource networking such as information, ideas, or skill sharing (e.g. web design, fundraising).
· Bring international attention to local issues and raise youth awareness of national and international events concerned with racism and other forms of related intolerance.
· Act as a means of peer-education through mass media, providing training materials and information on issues and create educational tools for young people to use in their own communities.
· Demonstrate, through examples, young people's capacity to create positive social change.
· Become an 'open source' resource - anyone can access the site, become part of the Network and use the information.
· Tie into, strengthen, and develop existing structures and networks for youth around the world.
