Let us discuss the fundamental principal of Ifa, IWPELE (good character). I'm interested in hearing your experiences of life and how we obtain this precious gift of development through our relationship with Egun, Orisa, The Mothers and/or our community/family/friends.

As an Iyaolorisha (Oshun) daughter of a Babalawo, I have learned that the most basic and important foundation of the Yoruba tradition is Iwa. I spend my days examining which areas I am willing make changes and how I can improve that which is beautiful within me. Understanding that without this self examination and alignment of my Ori.. I could not find happiness with this tradition, Egun, Orisa, etc.

I find our community in constant battle with others being incorrect, rather than that in-which we can change within ourselves. Unfortunately many of us still living in a state of victim consciousness. How can we move from this state and practice the principals of Ifa in beauty so that our tradition can live on through our children in harmony.
