Island Writers is a moderated email group primarily for Cape Breton writers in all disciplines. Our purpose is to make it easy for writers on Cape Breton Island to support each other and stay connected, despite the fact that we're geographically far-flung.

However, we're also casting our net further than that. While some of us live on an island, we know there are writers in other rural areas of the province who *feel* like they're on an island, exiled far from the warm fires and writerly cameraderie of the Writer's Federation in Halifax (despite the best efforts of Ma Fed to keep us in the loop). We welcome those other rural Nova Scotia writers as well.

Membership is free and open to writers at any level, from absolute beginners to seasoned professionals.

All aspects of writing, publishing, and the writing life are appropriate discussion topics for this group. Join us and stay connected with other Cape Breton and Nova Scotia writers!
