As-salamu Alaykum. This group is associated with my website at islamnz.com. I plan to use it to post occasional pieces of news and information that would be difficult, for design reasons, to include in the website itself. In particular, I plan to post pictures I have found, or been given, about the "war against terrorism". For the record, I would like to say that I do regard this as a war against Islam, despite the claims of Messrs Bush and Blair that it is a war against "extremists" only - and that "moderate" Muslims have nothing to worry about. Needless to say, they are defining the terms "extremist" and "moderate", and are including in the former category almost anyone who opposes their military adventures. Even those who seek the creation of an Islamic state by wholly peaceful means, through the ballot box, are being labelled "extremists", and being subjected to arbitrary arrest and detention in some countries that have adopted policies of subservience to the US.

The photograph on the right, which is from the early 2000s, shows thugs of the IDF invading Al-Aqsa Mosque. The picture will, of course, anger and disgust Muslims. But it should also give them comfort, as an army that does things like this only degrades itself. And from that degradation comes a loss of morale and, in turn, a gradual loss of effectiveness as a fighting force.
