Welcome to the home of the Irving Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol! Our unit, SWR TX 133, meets at MacArthur HS Library, 3700 N. MacArthur Blvd, Irving TX, at 1830-2030 Tuesdays - all are welcome. During the summer months (1 Jun - 1 Sep), the meeting moves to the Lively Pointe Recreational Center, 909 N. O'Connor Rd, Irving, TX (across from Irving HS) at the same time.
The Irving CS was an active squadron for many years, but was deactivated in the late 1970's with the change in demographics in aviation personnel that came with the decline of Love Field and the opening of D/FW Airport. The squadron was officially reactivated on 6 Apr 2006 under the command of Lt Col Cynthia S. Whisennand. We welcomed many former members of Redbird CS in late 2006 and Jolly Green CS in 2007 as those units were deactivated. Redbird CS was reactivated 1 Oct 09.
We are citizen-volunteers, serving our country through the Civil Air Patrol's three-part mission of Aerospace Education, Cadet Programs, and Emergency Services. The U.S. Air Force Auxiliary performs missions for America, much of them related to search and rescue, disaster relief, and homeland security. Come join us - all interested members are welcome. Help us to fulfill our motto "Conor Ut Perficio" (Strive to achieve)!
