The next orienteering event taking place in Leinster will be the Christmas
Score event on Three Rock Wood (Ticknock), Dublin on 26th December. This
year, the proceeds from the event will be shared between supporting the
Junior squad and the "Pop Over To Peter" fund (find it on Facebook).



Many of you will know Mick Kellett, a familiar face at orienteering events
the length and breadth of the country. What you might not know is that
Mick's son Peter was involved in a serious accident out in Australia
resulting in him being paralysed from the waist down for the rest of his
life. Peter will have to remain in Australia until March and his family
have been travelling over to keep him company as best they can. However,
flights aren't cheap and "Pop Over To Peter" is a campaign specifically
aimed to help send members of Peter's family out to Perth to keep him
company while he undergoes rehab.



3ROC is delighted to be part of this campaign and would encourage all
orienteers to support the Xmas score event or make a direct contribution via
the Facebook page.



Start times for the Christmas score event will be between 10.30am and
12.00pm with courses closing at 1.00pm. As usual, refreshments will be
served at the finish to revive frozen competitors.
