Nothing for Honda, or Valkyrie so it was a waste of $$$$ for me...
However, if it trips ur rigger, go for it.....
If you get the Web link below it will take you to a Sam's Club web
page with the listing for what I hope is a nice cycle jack. I recived
one for Christmas but haven't got a chance to try it out yet. They
were selling for $150.00 then and are now priced at $99.00. I think
these are the same jacks that they use at the Cycle Clinc here in Des
Moines. I will be using mine this week as I an preparing to change my
rear tire. I had to build a brace to fit under my I\S because it is a
little back heavy. I found the plans for the brace on the VRCC site
and it works good with my dads Craftsman Jack. I will let you all know
how my new jack works when get the chance to use it, this snow might
screw up my plans. I hope everyone got a chance to to ride some last
week befor winter came back. I hope to see you all at Perkins for
breakfast.

Brad, I can't comment on the CD version, but for $10.00 I think it would be
worth the risk. I have the manual that you can hold in your hand and that
was around $70. ? Kinda pricy, but I can take it with me down to the garage if
needed. I'm planning on the breakfast also. Weather permitting, I'll be on
one of my Valks.

Has anyone had any experince with the "Factory Honda Sevice Manual" on
CD that is being offered on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi
ewItem&rd=1&item=7951447971&category=34237 .
I was going to get one unless anyone has had bad luck with them.
For $10 I figure you can't go too wrong. If I do get it I could make
some "Backup Copies" in case mine gets lost or damaged. Let me know if
anyone has any input. Thanks and I'll see you for breakfast at the end
of the month.
A young man learns what's most important in life from the guy next
door.
It had been some time since Jack had seen the old man. College,
girls,
career, and life itself got in the way. In fact, Jack moved clear
across
the country in pursuit of his dreams. There, in the rush of his busy
life,
Jack had little time to think about the past and often no time to
spend
with his wife and son. He was working on his future, and nothing
could
stop him.
Over the phone, his mother told him, "Mr. Belser died last night.
The
funeral is Wednesday." Memories flashed through his mind like an
old
newsreel as he sat quietly remembering his childhood
days.
"Jack, did you hear
me?"
"Oh, sorry, Mom. Yes, I heard you. It's been so long since I thought
of
him. I'm sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago," Jack
said.
"Well, he didn't forget you. Every time I saw him he'd ask how you
were
doing. He'd reminisce about the many days you spent over 'his side
of the
fence' as he put it," Mom told
him.
"I loved that old house he lived in," Jack
said.
"You know, Jack, after your father died, Mr Belser stepped in to
make sure
you had a man's influence in your life," she
said.
"He's the one who taught me carpentry," he said. "I wouldn't be in
this
business if it weren't for him. He spent a lot of time teaching me
things
he thought were important...Mom, I'll be there for the funeral,"
Jack
said.
As busy as he was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to
his
hometown. Mr. Belser's funeral was small and uneventful. He had
no
children of his own, and most of his relatives had passed
away.
The night before he had to return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by
to see
the old house next door one more
time.
Standing in the doorway, Jack paused for a moment. It was like
crossing
over into another dimension, a leap through space and time. The
house was
exactly as he remembered. Every step held memories. Every picture,
every
piece of furniture....Jack stopped
suddenly.
"What's wrong, Jack?" his Mom
asked.
"The box is gone," he
said
"What box?" Mom
asked.
"There was a small gold box that he kept locked on top of his desk.
I must
have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he'd ever tell
me was
'the thing I value most,'" Jack
said.
It was gone. Everything about the house was exactly how Jack
remembered
it, except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family
had
taken it.
"Now I'll never know what was so valuable to him," Jack said. "I
better
get some sleep. I have an early flight home,
Mom."
It had been about two weeks since Mr. Belser died. Returning home
from
work one day Jack discovered a note in his mailbox. "Signature
required on
a package. No one at home. Please stop by the main post office
within the
next three days," the note
read.
Early the next day Jack retrieved the package. The small box was old
and
looked like it had been mailed a hundred years ago. The handwriting
was
difficult to read, but the return address caught his
attention. "Mr.
Harold Belser" it read. Jack took the box out to his car and ripped
open
the package. There inside was the gold box and an envelope. Jack's
hands
shook as he read the note
inside.
"Upon my death, please forward this box and its contents to Jack
Bennett.
It's the thing I valued most in my life." A small key was taped to
the
letter. His heart racing, as tears filling his eyes, Jack
carefully
unlocked the box. There inside he found a beautiful gold pocket
watch.
Running his fingers slowly over the finely etched casing, he
unlatched the
cover. Inside he found these words
engraved:
"Jack, Thanks for your time! -Harold
Belser."
"The thing he valued most...was...my
time."
Jack held the watch for a few minutes, then called his office and
cleared
his appointments for the next two days. "Why?" Janet, his assistant
asked.
"I need some time to spend with my son," he
said.
"Oh, by the way, Janet...thanks for your
time!"
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the
moments
that take our breath
away,"

true.
1. At least 2 people in this world love you so much they would die
for
you.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some
way.
3. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they
don't like
you.
4. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to
sleep.
5. You mean the world to
someone.
6. If not for you, someone may not be
living.
7. You are special and
unique.
8. When you think you have no chance of getting what you want,
you
probably won't get it, but if you trust God to do what's best, and
wait on
His time, sooner or later, you will get it or something
better.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good can still

it.

most likely turned your back on the

you.

rude
remarks.
13. Always tell someone how you feel about them; you will feel much
better
when they know and you'll both be
happy.

I have not been able to get e-mails to you for about a year now.
Finally figured out the problem.
Your e-mail provider thinks that any e-mail with over 5 recipients
is SPAM, so they block these e-mails.
To get around this you have to add my e-mail address to your
authorized senders....
Any other members out there might want to do the same thing as all e-
mail providers are starting to do this. Hotmail, AOL and Yahoo are
already doing it also.
Anyway, check the Iowa VRCC site (calendar) as we have a meet,
greet, eat and plan ride meeting scheduled for Feb 26, 2005 @ 10:00
AM, Perkins on East Euclid in Des Moines, IA.

10:00 AM at Perkins on East Euclid in Des Moines, IA for a meet
greet eat and plan some rides is a GO.................
It is on the calendar here, will send 2 reminders as time gets
closer, so go mark your calendars and we see ya'll there......
Be thinkin about where we can ride to, eat up a storm and waddle
home. LOL.......
Steve K has suggested a place in Kalona....... Maybe we can con him
into coming part way this way, starting the ride and we follow to
Kalona. What cha think Steve? You could even bring the Burple
bike........... LOL........ Maybe we can get a Rune in attendance
also........ hint hint............
Stay warm till then, and depending on the weather as to whether I
ride or not.........
Anyone else going to Daytona for Bike Week? If so give me a shout.
I'll be in St Augustine for a day or 2 and then heading to Key West
for 3 days of warmth, & SUNSHINE..............
Actually what it is and I'm surprised your Dr hasn't told ya or even
one of his office clowns.
They did not do a good job of burying the ends of the wire when they
wired ya back shut. Some of those wires if not all will break in
time also....
The little twisted ends are a stickin ya.
Eventually, gristle will grow around them and then the pain will no
longer be there, UNLESS, for some reason or another your SO happens
to blip you one in the chest, or an EMT finds ya down and out and
does compressions on your chest, you know the fist and slammin hard
on the bones to get the ticker to going again...... If they do
that to me I'll be dead as a bone will go thru my heart.
Told the SO that I needed to have tattooed on my chest, DO NOT POUND
HERE, FRAGILE. or DO NOT POUND HERE, BROKEN CARTLIDGE, RIBS NOT
CONNECTED.
Russ,
Not the doc. More that likely, I went back to work way to quick and
didn't have enough of the therapy .Anyway too late now. Just grin and bare it!
Fuzzy
[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
What surgeon did your surgery? It wasn't Zeff was it? They ought
to ban that SOB. He has screwed up more than he has fixed.
Only reason mine hurts every so often is because he broke the
cartilage between the breast bone and ribs on the left side and
never wired it back together. Cartilage does not grow back
together, so every time I breath mine clicks.........
Russ,
Naaaa, chest still hurts most days but I seem to get along without all
the pain meds. Its a lot better now than it was before. Come on spring!
Fuzzy
[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Ya'll finally get the hurtin out of the breast bone?
I see ur Truck every so often but ya'll is a boggie'n down the
hiway, and I'm usually headed the other way with the concrete
divider between us...................
Russ,
Count me in on planning a ride. And the eats also! Hope to see a bunch
of the members there. Its been quite a while since I've seen anybody but Frank.
Fuzzy
[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
headed to des moines tomorrow
sandy has a seminar on thursday
kailee, youngest daughter, and i have a college visit at drake on

keep our travels in your prayers
Count me in. If we could get it on the calendar so a reminder will be sent
out it would be helpful. I also wanted to thank Russ for all the effort he
puts into the Site, He does a great job with it, I would hate to see it go
away.

We might have a bunch in the DSM area but trying to get them
together is another obstacle.
Give me a suggestion as to when and where and I'll send it to the
whole population and see what transpires.
No one has stepped forward for the 1st ride yet, so don't know
anything there......
I figured I'd ask the whole population about the middle of February
to step up and be a Ride Captain......... starting with the month of
April being the first one....
Wish ya'll much enjoyment on your retirement......
When's the first organized ride? The National Guard won't interfer
with anymore weekends. Retired from the military last month.
Hopefully that means more time to ride but I will be looking to
start a new career soon. No nights or weekends though.
Maybe we should get together for breakfast or lunch on one of these
winter weekends to talk about the upcoming riding season. There are
quite a few of us in the DSM area. RJ, what do ya think?
