This secular homeschool association welcomes all Iowa City and surrounding area families who are interested in creating community with homeschooling families of all backgrounds and lifestyles.
Members are encouraged to plan and participate in events that will provide non-religious educational and social opportunities for our children.

All members who join this group must be aware that people of many different backgrounds participate in this group. Respect of these differences is important to the creation of a supportive community.

In order to maintain a safe place to plan local events, we have established a privacy policy for the Iowa City Secular Homeschool listserv. The policy states that in order to join prospective members should:

1. Live in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area or be moving here shortly.

2. Attend at least one event so that we have met you personally or be referred by someone in the group who knows you personally.

We hope you will understand that this policy has been put in place to protect the children in the group. We frequently discuss personal information including our children's names, ages and whereabouts on the list. Some of our members just aren't comfortable discussing this information on an open listserv.
