There are quite a few differences.
1. The state of Israel was created by expelling the local inhabitants.
That's unique in world history.
2. Israel has, since 1948, constantly expanded its territory by
grabbing more and more lands expelling more and more local
inhabitants.
3. There are United Nations resolutions endorsing the rights of the
indigenous people i.e. the Palestinians and issuing strictures against
terrorist acts of the state of Israel.
4. As regards the Tamil issue of Sri Lanka, the LTTE demand for an
independent Tamil state, Tamils being an oppressed minority, does not
have any such international endorsement. (The position of the LTTE
vis-à-vis the Sri Lankan government is broadly comparable with that of
the ULFA vis-à-vis the Indian government.)
5. The LTTE and other Tamil militant organisations had in fact been
hugely supported by the GoI in the past. That policy badly backfired.
6. Israel's current attack is a war on the duly constituted
Palestinian Authority having control over the Gaza Strip having
international recognition.
The LTTE is, on the other, recognised as a "terrorist" organisation
and its control over whatever territory has no international
recognition.
7. India is not alone in condemning the Israeli aggression. A
resolution in the UNSC, and no less, could be blocked only through the
active intervention of the Bush Administration.
France is a major power which has decried this war of aggression as
the Chair of the EU.
