Dear Friends,

 

Greetings ! Children are often relegated to the background...with their voices unheard ...their problems unseen.......and as a social group invisibilized ! It remains imperative that we engage with the law (however problematic it is) to ensure our children remain protected. It is in this backdrop the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children)Act 2000  and its amended 2006 version assumes signifance. Despite a plethora of laws addressing children..their needs ..their rights......this enactment is of special relevance.

 

We (Nina.P.Nayak and Anuradha Saibaba) have made an attept to produce a handbook to address concerns of children in difficult circumstances.and devise appropriate solutions to effectively meet such challenges

We have endeavoured to demystify the law in a lay man's language.The existing legal framework has also been highlighted. There are appropriate case studies as well. Some emreging developments as well as suitable suggestions have also been incorporated in the handbook.

 

The Handbook  would be of tremendous use to individuals and institutions working with and for children. Academiancs, students, ngos, probation officers, social workers, research scholars, ,media personnel, police and the juvenile justice functionaries would benifit from it .
