Well, events have shown that it will not be possible to provide links to new Computer Associates Anti Virus update files. SO, here is your next best alternative: check out Grisoft's free antivirus scanner. It serves the purpose for which it was intended and can automatically or manually be updated.

This was the current release as of February 20, 2006 for Windows.
I cannot guarantee how long the company will provide either the free software or the free updates (seems they release updates just about every day, except Saturday and Sunday).

Installation of the free software at the link above then, when running, set the program settings and download the A/V file(s) on the same page as given above. The operation should be fairly intuitive. I love it and hope you will too.
