Google News still hasn't committed itself to searching
Indonesian-language news sites as it has for over a dozen
plus other languages (usually very well, see the very
bottom of Google News homepage for a list, or use the
drop-down menu at the very top).

But Google News in English keeps adding new features,
including an archive, personalization of the news page
by about 20 keywords, sorting by date or preference
(with out without duplicates), and, now, images alongside
news stories retrieved.

You can go to to http://news.google.com and try out some
of these innovations by yourself.

Here I just want to provide a few 'pre-set' searches you
can bookmark and use daily - as URLs, or as part of
any RSS feed you have set up (such as the very nice
Google reader).

This pre-set returns results sorted by relevance along
with images for searchword indonesia* --

This one does the same but without images --

It yields groupings of stories receiving the most coverage.
A nice place to start.

And this one brings results sorted by date without duplicates
and without images using searchword indonesia* --

If you don't want to miss anything, use this one throughout
the day (ideally after the sort-by-relevance pre-set at the
beginning of your online day.
